The tweets were in response to her armor change:

"Likely the reason some fans are upset is 'cause Ashley's armor is kind of an icon. The pink/white is similar to Garrus' blue/black." tweet by lindsayablonczy

another tweet in response was: "I like Phoenix armor too but the characters have to grow and develop, no one looks the same as me1" tweet by Christina Norman

But considering that 4 years approx may have passed since Shepard ran into Ash on Eden Prime when he/she goes on trial, I would guess that Ash would change (mature). Look at everything that she has been through, she would have to change.

oh man... you and me both!!!

I agree that they can and maybe even should change her look up a bit (which they've done) and even make her more mature than she was when we last saw her since it's been a few years (minus the little thing on horizon) .... but to make her "very different" would be a huge mistake and a big disappointment to all of us Ash fans that have been waitng, some more patiently than others (), since that horrible meeting on horizon to get to talk to their beloved Ash once again!!!

I don't think I'd be able to handle it very well!! I'd probably start raging all over the forums! HAHA

I'm happy. Fortunately, Bioware has understood. If Ashley remained exactly the same Ashley, that of Eden Prime, it would be sad. 4 years have passed, she became more mature, like Shepard. A new relationship, a new discovery, a new mystery to explore in M3. That's what I wanted.
