A tweet from Christina Norman. It appears Ashley could have a new personality to match her new outfit. :S

Uhh...I hate hearing this. I can get over the fact that they upgraded her look. (Actually I like it.) But not her personality no...no...no.... Posted Image
I suppose they made her more mature too...I can live with that. I just hope they don't turn her into a different character all together.

I'm happy. Fortunately, Bioware has understood. If Ashley remained exactly the same Ashley, that of Eden Prime, it would be sad. 4 years have passed, she became more mature, like Shepard. A new relationship, a new discovery, a new mystery to explore in M3. That's what I wanted. B)

ME3 is going to be 'darker', right? I predict our Ash becoming more serious, more cynical and perhaps.. disinterested in continuing a romance? That last part would certainly make a good excuse to withhold the romance scene until before the final 'suice' mission.

So Ashley's new model still isn't in OP?

Strangely I think the opposite about it.  Ashley from my point of view will be more than willing to meet up with Shepard, but indeed can be blocked by the confusion of their situation.

An immense desire, but also maybe a huge fear.

I'd credit more to VutaatVerd being busy than a consensus of dislike.

If she matures like Liara did in ME2 I would mind it. I mean Liara kinda lost her inocents from the ordeal of getting Shep'sbody but in the end she is still the scientist we found on Therum. So as long as Ash is still the BAMF marine that qoutes Tennyson I will be fine with it.

Exatcly what I hope. I mean I loved the change of Liara. For me she was clumsy, naive in M1, and like you said she kinda lost her innocents after Shepard's death, her story with the shadowbroker but she is still the scientifist we found on Therum in M2. But more mature, maybe darker in Lostb.  But I bet she will be less gloomy since regaining  shepard, and the screen of her physical Change clearer, with a makeup pink instead of black, confirms it. :P

So as long as Ash is still the BAMF marine that qoutes Tennyson I will be fine with it.

Hell yes, I agree. :D

Like if you paragoned Ash to be alittle more open to Alliance not have to stand alone then in ME3 that will not be a topic of discussion. Although if her and Liara are suddenly BFFs it would be wierd. I mean maturation does not mean a person personality and world/universe views change completely. I think Bioware understands this but I will be holding my breath untill I get ME3 and see Ash is still Ash.

Oh God, oh God, oh God!! I completely forgot what they did to Anders. *Is very nervous now*Posted Image

But the Mass Effect team is different from the DA team so I am really not that nervous.

...what does "twittersource" and "retweet" mean? I'm sure I would get excited if I knew what those words meant.

Also, what happened to Anders?

Me either, I hope she hooks us up with some Ashley pics though. Posted Image

I'm with you guys. I don't want Ashley turning into an Anders. Posted Image
But the ME team is better than the DA. The DA team isn't even in the same league...

I just don't want Ash to loose her roots. (Personality wise.) I'm fine with everything else they change as long as she still says poety off the top of her head and calls meh skipper. I'm gewd.

Well without giving away too many DA2 spoilers. He went from a rebelious wise cracking mage in Awakening to Psycho demon filled monster of a mage in DA2. It was like he was a totally different character.

But like MegaBadExample said the ME team is far superior to the DA2 team so it is unlikely that Ash will be Andersed in ME3.

Who knows, maybe it was Liara who helped Ashley up to Lieutenant since Liara's the shadow broker? Liara's been the shadow broker for a while now so she could have done something for the VS. We've got months to speculate.Posted Image

If the lovely Ms. Norman means that Ashley has "grown" and not so much "re-hauled" then I'm okay with it and pretty excited even.

Yes, that would reduce the chances of the VS punching Liara in the face.

Or not, considering how proud Ashley is.  I think if thats the case she'd have to have some words with Liara about pushing her up a rank, becuase that would make the acheivment smaller and Ash I think would be a little pissed about not doing it based on her own acomplishments.

But I dunnoPosted Image  Thats the good thing about months of speculation we can guess and guess and miss completly when the game comes out.

I actually liked DA2 quite a bit and even I don't want that!

(Not so much that I didn't understand the transformation of Anders, because I saw some logic to it...I just thought Anders was a condescending, self-pitying, albeit well meaning extremist...and I don't want Ashley to be associated with him at all.)

Still, an reasonable change is welcome, if not expected. There is no way a dynamic character could remain just as he/she was in the beginning of a series such as this. Too much has happened to Ash for her to NOT be affected.

Garrus and Tali did a lot of growing up from the first to second game, and then, of course, there's Liara's development in Lair of the Shadow Broker. I have seen people say they miss te old Liara but my general understanding is that it's an improvement. I seldom see anyone claiming they miss the old Garrus or Tali (though upgraded LI status may have something to do wit it), so I'm confident Ashley's growth (I think that's a better word than change...it implies starting from what she was and continuing from that point, rather than something totally different) will be a success. So long as it's organic, we should be able to see it's still her, but at the same time not just as she waswhen we last saw her.

Hopefully there will be time between avoiding universal destruction to do a little catching up <3

I doubt Ashley or (no, ESPECIALLY) Kaidan punching Liara in the face for doing them a favor Or even for giving Shepard's body to Cerberus to be revived. That's the typed of stupid reactions we don't need "you gave her to Cerberus so she could be brought back to life by terrorists?! *tackles and beat Liara up*" I will literally snapp all of my discs in half if this happens.

Really? The way I see it is this.

VS: Hey, Liara!
Liara: Oh, err.. hello, VS.
VS: I assume you knew about Shepard too? That's okay, I got over it.
Liara: Oh! Good, then. You should also know that I worked with Shepard during his time with Cerberus.
VS: WHAT?! I mean, that -- that's fine. Joker and Chakwas were on board too.
Liara: We went to Hagalaz and I usurped the Shadow Broker. You're looking at the most important information broker in the galaxy.
VS: D:< !! I.. I need to go cool off.
Liara: Also, despite being witness to the horribly deranged and twisted experiments by Cerberus in the past, I still handed Shepard's body to them to be molested and perverted in a variety of sick ways.
VS:
- Yell at her.
- Slap her, then yell.
- Full on beat down!

(I don't hate Liara, but in point of view of the VS it would take a lot to forgive her.)

I am excited to see Ash's growth (you are right growth is a better word) as well. I never understood Anders development into the DA2 Anders. But I didn't play DA enough to clearly know the characters motivations so that may be why. I am even more excited for ME3 now. Plus new Ash pics, gifs, qoutes etc. Posted Image

Pretty much this ! <3
And, my god, I hated also what they have done with Anders in DA2 ! I think I've enough trolled Bioware's forums about him and his change...  <_<

But why I'm confident with mass effect team ? Because of Tali, Garrus, Liara.

It's good to see however that whe know what we don't want at all. xD

Good gosh, no! I'd MUCH rather Ashley have risen to the rank of lieutenant on her own merits than by maneuvering and blackmail on the part of Liara. That would be a disgrace to both characters.:?
