Yeah, it kind of gives her a bit of mystery, and that could be Bioware trying to encourage people to talk to her more and not hate her.  It kind of looks mischevious in a good way too...

My problem with it is that Ash isn't mysterious or mischevious (at least as far as I can tell).  I get that they're trying to make her a more popular character with the redesign, but was she that unpopular to begin with?  (I only picked up the games late last year)

not unpopular but also not universaly embraced.

dont know about "mysterious or mischevious "but  nothing in ME1 or ME2 suggests to me that ash wouldnt wear a little make up and wear  her hair down if given a chance.

People in here are too optimistic! lmao

It's obvious that they are trying to "barbie doll" her up to make her a more liked character. However, I don't have a problem with the redesign IF they didn't mess with her personality... which from the sounds of those tweets... is exactly what they did. Yes, people mature over the years ... but they are largely the same person.

So they had better not take away her mischievous side (which she does have btw) or her sarcastic wit, or her love of poetry, or her stubbornness, or he brashness.... whether you want to admit it or not... it would NOT be the same Ash that we all love. As happy as I am that she will be in ME3... that would totally ruin the game for me. Hell, I'd probably change LI's.

Now, the hair ... I actually love and besides we ASKED for it and we got it... we shouldn't be complaining on that front.
Once again, the suit will be fine as long as it doesn't come with major personality changes... then we could enjoy Ash's personality and assets. haha

I shall remain pessimistic until I'm proven wrong... I need to see some dialogue examples. lol

Greatest gif ever.

@AD  Sadly no. I lack the skills to have drawn that from scratch.  It's a screenshot that I painted over and added hair.  I cheat when it comes to art.  I'm not an artist.  :D

i dont think theyre going to take away the things they know we think make ash great (sharp wit, thoughness, poetry) when i hear "Very diffrent" or "more mature" im thinking more open minded to working with other alien civilizations,a more calm and collected ash and a little less aggresive or hostil to ppl or things she dosnt like or agree with.

Yeah, now that Ash is a SpecTRe it seems like she would be more used to dealing with non-humans than she was before.  The "Not a fan of Aliens" line was a cheap shot after another cheap shot that was Shepard being an moron.  I think she will be more trustful of people in general this time around.

But something tells me she hates politics just as much as before...
EDIT: @Milla: Thank you for another chapter of the story, i can't wait to read it when i find the time!

Ash was very green when she joined Shepard's team in ME1. In the last few years she's experienced a lot. She was thrust into the middle of the biggest thing imaginable and on the way she lost a lot and learned a lot. She's less a soldier now and more a woman of the world.

Think about it. One minute you're "defending" a sleepy agri-colony and three years later you're a SpecTRe? That is some serious growing up.

I hope Ash hasn't lost her sense of humor, though I feel like she may be more serious in ME3. She's had to shoulder a lot of responsibility and it was a real trial by fire for her. I'm sure she's much wiser.

As for politics, we know how much she hates them so that was probably a struggle for her as well.  I wouldn't be surprised if she never wanted SpecTRe status to begin with, but took it only because it was the right thing to do.

The thing that struck me as odd about Kaidan and Ashley's ME3 look was they gave more armor to a biotic and less to a soldier (Unless they caught Ash in her utilities in the shot of Shep jumping into Normandy), fact is I didn't think that was Kaidan in this shot because the armor appears to heavy for his normal role in ME1 as a light armor user, it appears as heavy as Shepard's

What I'm wondering (and hoping) is if that armor Kaidan is wearing will be available to Ash (female version, obviously) and if Kaidan will get "laid back" clothes like the suit Ash is wearing in all the promotional pictures/videos. I'd really love to see Kaidan in it. And Ash in that brilliant blue armor

I agree with this.  Ashley's "Xenophobic" (ah yes...) tendencies were because she had never served in spae and therefore never had time around turians, Asari, Krogan, and Quarians. Just humans. Now that she's a spectre, one of two human ones while the other's of doing whatever she does, she's probabl had tons of interactions with them and is a bit more comfortable and trusting around them. Unless she's run into a bunch of Sarens and Tela Vasirs.Posted Image I'm hoping she's not all "holier than thou" with other aliens again, that's a disc snap inducing event.Posted Image

Her interactions with dealing with the frustrating Council and other difficult aliens could have also served to make her a little more bitter and cynical. It doesn't seem like Ash has had a particularly easy time of things. Everything has been a struggle it seems especially since the very people she's working for refuse to acknowledge the existence of the Reapers (unless this is just a political smokescreen for the public).  Either way, I get the sense that the last couple of years for our gal have been really tough.

:(

Well, of course, tendencies like that can be done away with or toned down as they have to do with her experiences with other species... so, for sure, she could learn to be more trustful of aliens and I wouldn't doubt her having some alien friends now.... and I'm not worried about that type of change. That would be becoming more... "mature."

It's things like her humor and sarcasm that I don't want changed. I don't want her to "be more serious" just b/c she has gone through a lot since eden prime or horizon... Hell, a lot of people already think that she is a "boring" character and making her more serious wouldn't help that at all, I wouldn't think. Plus it just wouldn't be Ash... like she says, "other people say what I mean better than I do" (or something like that).... so her poking fun at situations that she is uncomfortable with or nervous about would be something she should do IMO.

im hopeing for very serious during missions and humor during the on ship dialogue, since a wise crack or joke problay wouldnt be apropriate while a reaper rips apart a planet.

I always thought Ash used humor to deflect when things got emotional or intense. It's a defense mechanism for her I think sometimes.

My god she's awesome. I cannot wait for her return!

I do like a little banter when you are in battle ... That was one of the fun things in LotSB. You still felt connected to your partner even then.

Don't get to excited. I was hyped as hell last week, then I noticed how long the release is away and got depressive. :D

You're right! That's exactly when she uses her humor ... when things are kind of overwhelming... so making a joke about something while fighting would seem like her to me.
