I know ME3 will be chock full of tragedy because it's full on galactic war and all that, etc. etc. I'm wondering how much personal tragedy they'll throw in for Shepard and the squad. I'm kind of hoping they stay away from that, honestly. I'd rather not, for instance have there be a chunk of game about Ash losing her family for example - things like that.
They mentioned awhile back that ME3 wouldn't be as "dark"(?) as ME2, which I sort of gleaned wouldn't be as melodramatic? Hoping that's the case. "Emotionally engaging" is fine. I just don't wanna be bogged down with Battlestar Galactica tone where every episode made you want to give up hope and just kill yourself.
I think the most tragedy we will see will be like the child in the ME3 Earth demo. I can't see half the squadmates wanting to jump of a bridge like the last season of BSG. No one that close to squadmates have died in ME1 or ME2 besides fellow squadmates. I highly doubt that the Williams clan will meet a tradgic end.
