That was great to hear Ash and Kaidan mentioned at games con today. That's right they are individuals and I'm glad they will be treated that way.
Agreed! Too bad we can't have both of them together in ME3. They are the best NPC's of the series imo.

Thirded!
They say that you never miss what you never had. Since I originally bought and played ME2 first, it wasn't until I played ME1 that I understood who Ashley was, the part she played, and of course - Kaidan. They became my favorites for squaddies until Virmire. I missed Ash in ME2 (dreadful Horizon) as well as the presence of Kaidan.
I optimistically look forward to seeing how each of the two characters are developed in their own right - especially since it is a "one or the other" scenario in ME3.

It sure would be nice to see the new armor choices we will have for Ash in me3. They say she is a spectre now and all the spectres have good armor.
Maybe something like,

or her,

and some light armor like,

and some different colors too like,

or

I would also like to see some causal wear for on board the Normandy

or the new causal look,

I don't think that it has been confirmed by Bioware that the Virmire survivor has become a Spectre. It does say in Mass Effect Wiki that he/she has become a Spectre for ME3. Promoted to Second Lieutenant.Spartas Husky wrote...
I have a question, not sure if it is confirmed or not but its really bugging me. Is it correct to say that the squadie form ME1 that survived became a specter?. In my case Ashley? She was chosen as a specter after ME2?.

Ah. well lets see how it turns out. I'm staying faithful... but if it turns out to be true is a bit annoying. Would feel like she was made a specter simply out of what Sheperd did. Unless she took some missions in the 2 years that we were getting put back together that were simply crazy.

She survived Eden Prime.
Helped Shepard defeat Sovereign.
And who knows what else she did in the two years Shepard was gone?
Sounds kind of like a Sole Survivor Shepard, to be honest.

That doesn't show what she is capable of in its entirety. She survived eden prime. So did many others. Some by hiding, some by running some by fighting. No matter which surviving it doesn't necessarily justify being a specter. At least in my eyes.
All of her survivals aren't because of her skill. It was mostely because someone came to aid. IN Eden prime it was kaiden and Sheperd. In Horizon it was Sheperd again.
Like surviving an ambush as a normal marine grunt, and being asked to be a Navy seal. THe numbers must have been overwhelming and on your own for the NAVy seals to even take notice.
She helped Sheperd. Many Force Recons work with special forces but that doesn't mean they'll be special forces.
The first two is what I am worried is ther eason she became a specter. basically sheperds achievements rubbed off onto her.
An example is hanging around someone of interest in a certain circle and everyone else giving you credit simply because you are that important person's friend.
These last two for me ****** me off. I love Ashley but making her a specter simply because some of Shep's popularity rubbed off isn't a show of respect.
" Your friend did good on the job how about I promote you too? just because your his friend"
That 3th option though what she has done in the 2-3 years shep was out is the jackpot. If she has done something there to proove her mettle then horray. The blitz happended 3-5 years before shep became a specter so it can be done.
I am just preying she is not just a specter because "she is sheperds former teammate" thats more of an insult for me than a reward.
Only squadies that have proven that are specter material are Garrus and Liara... and I dont like much liara to be honest. Nevertheless this is because of what they have accomplished while shep was out.

Tell that to SOLE SURVIVOR SHEPARD, Because i'm pretty sure thats what got him into the spectre's. It's like Nihlus said " The ability to survive is a impressive trait." One that Nihlus didn't posess but still you get the point.

XD Like the bolded part.
Anyways, no, Ashley worked with Shepard, but if she was made a Spectre, it would be based on her own merits and hard work within that struggle with Sovereign and on Eden Prime. Sure, Shepard lead the team on the Normandy, but a leader needs a good foundation and support.
At the very least, the Williams name will hopefully be out of the mud.

I dont mind her being a specter if something during the 2 years we were out prooves her mettle. Being promoted because Shep's Accomplishments rubbed off on her isn't a show of respect.
Sheperd survived on his own, nobody arrived on a timely matter to save him thats what makes a survivor. You aint a survivor if somebody comes in the nick of time.
PS: Nihlus did had survival traits beyond that the ordinary sheperd not sure if that was a pun based on eden prime, but if you speak with samara you can see Nihlus was a survivor to the core. Is only because a "friend" that he died.
Like saying Wrex was actually hired to kill you and one time you turn your back he shoots you... that doesn't mean that you aren't a survivor.
