I haven't but I hope she does....:) she's quite the important character.

since i play femshep, it sucks I can't romance her, but it was soooo refreshing to see a female that could be military savy and poetic/religious....and to be it didn't seem like she beat you over the head with it

I'm suck a geek, I began getting back into poetry reading

Its her family that's the biggest perk for me- no family angst. My earthborn is just fascinated that there are people in the world that didn't grow up in the slums and ganglife, like she did...

Yes, yes, and yes!:)

I can't imagine Mass Effect 3 without Kimberly Brooks as Ash.

Finally someone agrees with me! Yes!

On that note, I'd REALLY like to meet her family....especially her sisters...

wanted to meet/see Mr. Williams in a side mission.. I think he and Shep would get along great....

Hey... am I the only one that thinks, after Shepard died- either male or female... Ash visited his/her grave a lot and left poems?

TBH i never heard of Kimberley Brooks before ME, and i am glad i know now. I hope Bioware keep using her for there games, she was in Kotor (aditional voices aka random npcs) Mass effect, and Dragon age. She brings a certain realism to Ash, cleary Bioware put alot of effort in getting Ash right and they needed a beautiful voice that sounds real and not fake.

Here is old ME1 E3 videos, in both of them Ash has a very different voice. In the first one she sounds more old, in the second she sounds like a child lol Thank god for Kimberley Brooks lol.

I absolutely fell in love with Kimberly Brooks' voice. The visceral connection to a person's voice is one that can't really be explained or quantified, and goes a long way toward deciding your ultimate perception of a character. Bioware had to try a few times, but they definitely got Ash right.

Are you talking about Ashley's dad or her granddad? Because her dad's dead, and she reads poetry at his grave every time she gets leave, remember? I don't know about her granddad, though, but I would expect he's no longer living, either.

Ash does say in her email that she read a lot of Tennyson after Shepard died.

well unfortunatley shep meeting ash's father is highly unlikely too happen,but most of us on here are hopeing  that therest of the family will appear in some way shape or form come ME3.

i like too think that ash visited sheps grave a few times,i think more so even if shes your LI. death of a loved one hurts more than death of a friend or commanding officer IMO.

@zeuss well since his body wasnt recovered by the alliance i belive story wise its on the planet from which ever backstory you have chosen.

Spacer:memorial some where on arcturius station
War hero:memorial on Elysium
Earthborn:somewhere on earth
Soulsurvivor:memorial on Akuze
Colonist:mindoir
Ruthless:memorial on Torfan.

i imagin there would be a big televised ceremony,im sure ash and the others would know where to go.

Unless the Alliance have someplace like Arlington Cemetery, it's likely there would just be a(several) memorial(s). Back to the subject, I think Ash definitely did some poetry-reading to Shepard's grave.

Spacer: Shepard's mother Captain Hannah turns down the offer to become an Admiral.
Colonist: Mindoir has Shepard branded on their colonial seal.
Earthborn: A Shepard scholarship scheme is started to help people in Earth's slums join the Alliance.

Sole Survivor: A Memorial is placed on Akuze, a speech is given by Hackett at the opening.
War Hero: The Shepard Plaza on Elysium is the hottest place to get married.
Ruthless: There are attempts to extinguish the Shepard Memorial Flame on Torfan.

And hello to the Ashleyrinos! ^_^

Agreed.  Do you think she'd read him Ulysses or would that be reserved for visits to her father?

Damn, so many posts, I barely have time to catch up.

@Raanz, its cool. Private Message me with your answer when you can.

As for Kimberly Brooks and her voice acting:

I'm glad so many people agree with me. She has the perfect combo of youth and strength behind the voice. I clicked on those two beta gameplay vids that were linked here, and besides the fact that the game looked WAY different than the end product, the first Ashley voice did sound waaaayyy too mature and older. The second voice DID sound like Kimberly Brooks, but she got horrible directions from the director (it sounded like she was trying too hard to sound military and professional and therefore her tones and patterns were off). I'm sure they realized their mistake and redirected Brooks to sound natural.

And on the topic of family, yes I would love to meet the entire family in ME3 if their is a good opportunity to. I don't know if Bioware will do that for us, for for me, I'll have to settle for Shepard meeting the Williams happening in a later chapter of the fanfic I'm writing.

i think she has come too associate two poems with shep,im not much for poetry so forgive me if i dont know there names but i belive she reads "Oh captain my captain." and the one that she says too you in ME1 and in her letter in ME2 "Death closes all: but something ere the end
Some work of noble note, may yet be done,
Not unbecoming men that strove with Gods." i think those are the two exclusives she reads just for shep.

EDIT:however im not sure if the latter is the same one she reads too her dad,if it is i think they both share it as one she read over there graves.

I want to defintily support, that Kimberly Brooks did outstanding voiceacting with Ash. It's a major thing that got me hooked to Ash. Just really natural. I totally belief there is a person with memories and emotions behind my computer screen, when K. Brooks is acting Ash. I do especially like the way how she recites the poems, it really makes you see immediatly how import that poetry is for Ash. I can't imagine anyone (bedside a jerk) could choose the renegade answers after Ash is reciting the poems.

And I support the idea of meeting Ash's sisters in ME3, that would be fun for sure.

E: spelling

E2: Could someon of you nice souls guide me to the place, where I can get the small "Ashley for Squadmember in ME3" pic for my sig? I can't seem to find it ....

Yes, that is Ulysses, the Ashley's Dad poem. Don't know which poem the other is from, but I suspect someone here might.

Yes, that is Ulysses, the Ashley's Dad poem. Don't know which poem the other is from, but I suspect someone here might.

Dost thou refer to the line O Captain, My Captain?  That would be Walt Whitman's "O Captain! My Captain!"   It was written for Abe Lincoln - composed after his death and the end of the American Civil War.  It certainly does mention the whole "dead" thing quite a bit, but it's more of a tribute to his works than his life - not sure if that's what Ash would focus on.

The full text below:

O Captain my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up--for you the flag is flung for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You've fallen cold and dead.

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

Personally, given that she's a Tennsyon fangirl, I think she'd go with something more tribute-like - like what Tennyson wrote when facing his own death ( Crossing the Bar) or A Farewell.
