That looks bloody epic, seriously well done.

My one criticism is the lack of Wrex and Tali but hey I guess you can't fit anyone and it still looks awesome.

So hey, once again my question for the thread is this:

Should the Ashley-Shepard romance scene in Mass Effect 3 be powerful and passionate like it was in the first or more peaceful and gentle like the Jack one in Mass Effect 2?

Which do you reckon fits the mood better?

This is a tough one because with Ash you would think it would be powerful and passionate but I think in the two years Shepard was gone she had changed a lot. She always had that gaurd up because even after the romance in ME1 she couldn't say I love u but in ME2 it was the first thing she said to Shepard so I think this time around it would be more peaceful and gentle.

I am tempted to immediately say 'powerful and passionate', but I think there actually ought to be a period of tentativeness, at least on Shepard's part. He broke the woman's heart, and after the train wreck that was Horizon he needs to do a better job of considering her feelings. Perhaps by the time of ME3 Ashley will be ready to pick up on their relationship, but Shepard should not assume that she is.

Not really related, but as a note; is Lord Zeuss ever gets all self-righteous about this "No Ash, No Money" buisiness, I'd just like to point out that he's not the one buying all the DLC that he's able to play.

elaborate

He and I share an Xbox 360. So it always ends up being me who is spending the money on Microsoft Points in order to download DLC. He doesn't, or more accurately, hasn't spend a cent on DLC. And if new DLC does come out, and it doesn't include Ashley, he won't have to spend any money to be able to play it. Therefor rendering the sentiment of "No Ash, No Money" rather moot.

Because I am so freakin sick of being looked down the nose at for using Sheploo in my artwork. Something about "lack of creativity" and such.

Sometimes I really wish I had the PC version...

In an attempt to add to the discussion of the endings, be it "Blaze Of Glory" or  "Into The Sunset With White Picket Fences";

First off, as nice as it may seem; the possibility of a "Shepard and Ashley settle down to raise a family" ending is something I would have to say that I don't particularly want. Not seen on screen, anyway. I just don't think that it would fit in with the rest of the game. I'm not saying that a happy end at all isn't something I want, or that Ashley and Shepard don't deserve it. But perhaps it could just be something a little less... fluffy? Is that the word?

So, as I see it now, you're left with a bunch of bad choices in that regard; one the one hand. you could have that fluffy end, and have people like me be jerked out of the immersion of the game. Or you could have something like in Dragon Age, with the equivalent of the game giving you Tweets of what went on after the conclusion of the final cinematic. Which I don't view as a particularlly favorable option.

If you're gonna have a happy, into the sunset ending, I'd prefer if it were something a bit more down-to-earth, in the terms of the Mass Effect games. At most, Shepard asking Ashley to marry him. I'd like that, if done well.

As for the "Blaze Of Glory" option. Well... hmm. I'm not entirely sure what I think about that at this time. The ending of Mass Effect 2 was both dark and uplifting at the same time. A "Blaze Of Glory" ending would be hard pressed to share those feelings.

I would most prefer a "Flying off into the nebula and anything is possible" ending, because it wouldn't restrict events to the standard American Dream, nor would it specifically deny that possibility. I.e. it would remain in the spirit of RPG's and allow the players to make of it what they will.

And yes, Tweets from the future are lame-o-shame-o.:pinched:

Don't worry, Indigo; you'll get no criticism of Sheploo from me.  Posted Image

And back on topic .... with regards to the whole passion/gentle romance thing - I think it'd be a mix of the two.  Some fervent reconciliation followed by some hesitations are where things are going.  He hurt her, deeply - it's hard to get over that and jump back into things.

As far as passionate vs. gentle for the ME3 love scene with Ash goes:

Because with my particular Shepard that this involves, I would WANT it to be passionate just because I could imagine Ash just sexually having her way since that's what I usually go for and two years can mean a whole lot of built up sexual frustration that could be released powerfully (I forgot if Ash mentions in the email or otherwise whether she dated others after Shepard died).

However, I could definately see either one happening. Telemachus and Lord Zeuss have good reasons for their guesses on gentle scenes, an I agree with them completely.

So because I believe either possibility could happen, I'll go with preference as my answer, that being the former.

I think something needs to be addressed as far as Ashley/Kaiden in ME2 DLC before ME3, sort of a bury the hatch missions where the actions you take (in say, helping the Alliance) will result in the regaining of trust between Shepard and Ashley/Kaiden, it doesn't even have to be romantic, but a little differentiation wouldn't hurt :)

I can imagin Ashley saying at the end; "Shepard, when the time comes, (pans to face) you can count on me." Then they part ways, since they cannot be recuited.

Wait, what? When did he hurt her? When he was dead/in coma and couldn´t even open his eyes unless Miranda moved his eyelids for him? Or when he got on the Normandy and knew that every message he tried to send her would get intercepted by Kelly, Miranda or TiM? Or when he asked his old buddy Anderson (Anderson is dead to me btw, old captain or not) about her and was stonewalled? (two times)
Not to mention the fact that he had his hands full with saving humanity (including Ash and her family) and countless family issues.
He might have reacted kind of cold to her after she threw words like traitor at him, but I don´t see where he hurt her on purpose.
My Shepard even tries not to stare at Miranda in her ridiculous(ly sexy)  outfits, that´s got to count for something. (For the faithful shall be rewarded)

I agree on Sheploo. He looks like he gets things done while looking totally smug.B)

I have a lend-lease policy, which would obviously be suspended.

Ash was my choice when it came to the first ME, but after Horizon/Tali becoming available, I can't go back.

That's going to make for one awkward ship ride in ME3 huh? O.O

I'm not saying he hurt her on purpose or that there was anything he could do to prevent it ... but it's pretty obvious that Ash went through a world of hurt when he died.  And even though Shep has every rational reason in the world to build an argument against it, there's something things that even rationality can't help to smooth over, IMO.  Ash is a big girl, she'll be fine, and Shepley shall live again ... but I'm just saying that there's a lot of hurt there to overcome, and I don't think it'll be immediate.

dunno about others but between Ash and Tali as romance i always choose Ash..far better char and romance option..Tali is more like a litlle sister to my Shep...
Don't get me wrong..i think Tali is a great char...just not a good romance option...Bioware should have resisted the fan service...

I am not the biggest Sheploo fan on the planet, although he's ok...but in that poster, he looks more badass than I ever saw him...Great job!!
