Any Assault Rifle. I like the 3 round burst rifle, I think she would be fond of that too. :D

This is true.  I think she'd be at home with any weapon save an SMG (still don't understand why soldiers can't use that D:) or a heavy weapon.  Assault rifle, though; those, I think, are her niche.

And did no one get my cheesy joke? Posted Image  Alas.

Alright, the Overlord DLC is creepy.

That robotic, semi human growl scares the hell out of me.

Hmm...  Trying to think up new topics....  Ashley interacting with crew...  I know!  What would Ashley's favored weapon be from ME2?  Personally, I think she would enjoy the Revenant very much.  Far more up-close-and-personal than a normal assault rifle, but it has way more power.  A good balance for a soldier that can take alicking and keep on ticking.

Wait a second... Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

I always figured she'd be at least somewhat partial to the Collector beam personally. Also the Revenant is certainly very much 'her thing' too.

I think she would grow attached to the M-97 Viper. Stopping power, generous clip size and very flexible for a sniper rifle.

But I agree that she would definitely like the Revenant. Especially once the accuracy upgrade was picked up.

Alright ladies and gentlemen of Ashland heres a Topic weve never disscussed before (for obivous reasons). Now we know that regaardless of wheither we like it or not there will be a Mass Effect Movie and it will most likely be based off ME1 and we all know what that means......it means we will see a big screen flesh and blood reprsentaion of everyones faverotie sassy, wise craken, fraternization regs qutoein Gunnery chief Ashley M.Williams.

Now i know what most of you are thinkin, that theres a 90% chance this film will be a massive Train wreck, and id be inclined to agree with you......but lets be real as long as Ash is the LI,isnt killed on virmire, and is Portrayed by an actress with talent and actual acting skills we could really care less how the rest of the film turns out,am i right......course im right. So here it is folks,in your post descride who you would want to see play ashley in the mass effect Film and why youd think theyed make the best ash. Also provide a picture of said actress if you can for phsyicale refrance for others.

Guess ill go first.....For me personaly i nominate Mila Kunis.

in recent years after her run on that 70's show she has proven to have a wide range of acting ablity, her carereer has takein a sudden leap in the time after her breakout film forgeting sarah marshall and has become quit popular among geeks and nerds such as myself. Some may say that she is too thin to play a hardcore Alliance Marine, but before shooting starts she can go into an intense training regiment that would make her more bulit and and increase her body size to be on par with Ash's in game apearance. She is also an addicted video game player and i have no doubt she would go and play mass effect to study ashleys in game charecter to produce a more acurate preformance. Now unfortuanatley she sounds nothing like Kim B. but i think that is something we could all get over if her preformance of the chareter is spot on.

With all of this i think she would be able to produce a worthy and accurate reprasentation of our beloved ashley williams.Ok your turn guyz who do you want to see play Her?

Well i dont know to many actress's that realy remind me of Ash, and i am sure plenty of people will find better choices to play Ash, but i think Michelle Rodriguez is also a good choice to play as Ash. The only problem is she might come across as too hardened and leave out the gentle side of Ash. Michelle is brilliant at playing tough characters, but i am yet to see her play a more gentle character while remaining tough at the same time.

1) Just a general reminder, folks ... The support thread is for on-topic Ash-related discussions. If you're looking to chat about DLC or wondering "Geez, this place is empty! Where is everyone?" go to the off-topic chat thread linked in the OP. Most of the "regulars" from the last thread congregate there. If you want to talk Ash, this is the right place - Overlord, reapers ... probably not the best stuff for here.

2) I still vote for Summer Glau to play her. Or Jennifer Carpenter (Debra on Dexter).

I think the first thing I'd look for is someone who play a badass soldier/ action hero type well. Harder to pull off than 'fairly normal girl'. I'd like to see Eliza Dushku play her I think.

@funk Michelle Rodriguez would be ideal if ash didnt have a sensitive side and was just a hardcore marine. But unfortuantle she dose and like you stated previously Michelle proub wouldnt capture that side of her all that well.

@Homie although i love summer glau ive always pictured her playing Liara in the mass effect movie.summer captures the whole soacily akward charecter better than hardcore marine.granted weve never seen her do hardcore soldier before, but i still think she would shine as liara.(mila kunis as ash,and summer glau as liara would totaly blow my mind)

Yeah, homie, I see what you mean - but I think the actress needs to have a balance of toughness and softness. I mean, depending on who it is, the whole Tennyson thing could seem laughable. I think Summer Glau did a great job of balancing that in TSCC. But, okay... Mila could do that as well.

mila dosnt have to be the universale chocie for me,if some one posts an actress and explains why theyed think shed be better i could be persuaded to change my mind.in the case of summer shes another great actress and very beatiful aswell its just she dosnt really look like ash that much, and ive never really seen her do hardcore marine before.even in TSCC she was an odd cyborg more than a battle hardended soldier.now she dose something in the near future that  resembles ashleys charecter and dose a good job my mind could be changed.

I also support Eva Green. She was awesome and tough as Vesper in Casino Royale and also pretty good at that soft stuff too. :)

I liked her the most when she drowned.

I think the actor needs to be racy, olive skin, black hair, brown eyes... you know, somehow a lot like Ash. :P

I think the focus on looks is kind of misplaced, honestly. Make-up and costumes can bridge a lot of those gaps. When I think who I want to play Ash, I think of the nuances of her character. Again - no offense to those who suggested it - but if I heard Michelle Rodriguez start reciting Ulysses, I'd laugh. I'd laugh really, really hard. Ash is so much more than just some tough girl marine ... and it's one of the most amazing things about her as a character, when you start peeling back the layers and getting to know who she truly is. *shrug*

That's why I think Eliza. She hasn't played a soldier as far I know, but Faith strikes me as a character having important Ash-like qualities. A tough girl, but the tougher she got, the more vulnerable and the more you went along with her.

no way no no no...Summer should never play Liara...i would not be able to watch any of her movies ever again....
but she is not good as Ashley either...dunno i always seen Summer as playing either soulles characters or with over the top emotions(River)...saw her in normal roles and she was awkward....
Michelle Rodriguez would be great...if she could act more then beeing badass....:D
Eliza is my vote...i have confidence she could portray Ash the way it needs to be

That's a good point, Yiff.  I think she did a great job with Dollhouse, too, and coming to reconcile Echo with Caroline (not sure if you've ever seen it).  It's a similar sort of transformation that Ash goes through when she warms up to Shepard - slowly learning/revealing more of herself to the audience.
