But still, enough doom and gloom as to what would happen if Shepard cheated, how do you reckon she'd respond if she found out that Shepard stayed loyal to her that whole time? I reckon she'd be impressed to say the least.

I think she would appreciate it. But being impressed by it? "Wow, Shepard you managed to keep your pants on for more than 2 weeks, this is an incredible display of willpower and discipline. Babies?":wizard:

knowing Biowares writing staff it problay wont even come up unless you did cheat or unless shes a returning sqaudmate with lots of dialogue like in ME1 where you would have time to explore multiple subjects.but if she just gets another passing 'Hi" and "By" cameo then i doubt they would take the time to get  into it unless you did it.

Weighing in on who for Ashley in a movie:
All kidding aside, you might call me crazy but I think Elisabeth Shue would be good. She can act, and if she dyed her hair I think she could fit the role.

I'm unfamiliar with Ms. Shue. What was she in and what is it about her that you think would fit Ashley?

She was in the original Karate Kid/Leaving Las Vegas.

Back on topic. Here's another picture of Ashley.

Now here's one of Jessica Biel also found wearing "Colossus" Armor in a movie to compare the above pic with. Coincidence? I think not. :)

And here's one of her with a ponytail similar to Ashley's hair bun.

Let's see, she was in the original Karate Kid, cocktail, a couple of the Back to the Future movies, Hollowman, Leaving Las Vegas, The Saint, and a bunch of other stuff.  I just think she can play the part, plus I think with the right hair color and style she bears a resemblance to Ash.

I have a hard time with this one.  I think she'd almost expect Shepard not to give up on their relationship.  She's having a hard time letting go, and I'm tempted to believe she'd project that onto Shepard somewhat - expect him to be just as torn but still wanting to reconcile once things blow over with Cerberus.  I think her response would be to try to work things out and not make a big deal out of it by saying she's impressed by his self-control or something - that sounds more like CHud's response than hers.  Posted Image

I agree with SilverRose, Ash would _expect_ Shepard to stay loyal to her. I think she will go rightfully mad at him, if she finds out he's not with Cerberus and never really was, but he cheated on her with Miranda/Tali/Jack. Now, just think what that means to her as woman: Shepard stays loyal to his goal and believes, showing strong determination in that point but he didn't stay loyal to her ... I think she would get a very bad vibe from that .. giving her a strong feeling she's not that important for him anymore and maybe never was.
I also think she wouldn't be overly impressed if Shepard went Renegade, gave the base to Cerberus and is basically a Cerberus-man now. Even he didn't cheat on her, I don't think she would trust him again. He just betrayed the believes they both shared in ME1.
In my eyes, the only way for reuniting with Ash would be a loyal+full paragon play in ME2. That's the least Ash would expect, and she's worth it :)

E: for clarity

Lol

No actually I meant more along the lines of her being impressed that Shepard didn't 'move on' even after all the things that had come between them. That's what I meant.

Overall, I think Ash is a realist. After the lashing she gives Shep on Horizon, I don't see how she wouldn't be a bit impressed that you stayed loyal.

On what SilverRose and Kacynski said...

I'm pretty sure Bioware will write in a way for players to reignite love with their ME1 LIs if they cheated, regardless who that is, because otherwise there may be a lot of upset players on ME3, as that would eliminate any choice, which is what the average ME2 would like in this situation, even if they know who they're gonna pick.

Now I agree with some points to what the above posters said, but at the same time, I don't think an affair would be the be-all/end-all of Ash's feelings for Shep. She may expect Shepard to be loyal, but at the same time I think if she found out that Shep cheated, she may not be that suprised and may even blame herself for pushing him away on Horizon (unfortunately, its proven that she blames herself for a lot of things and the email was her way of apologizing, so in this case it isn't much different.) She even says at the end of the email (and I'm paraphrasing here) "Be careful with the Collectors and Cerberus and once this is done, we'll see what happens."

That to me communicates that she's expecting the worst and would at least give Shep a chance, when they meet again, to explain himself and see if they can work out their problems. So for that reason, and the other reason I mentioned above about Bioware, I don't believe that ME2 love interests will end things with Ashley permanently, and that one would have the chance to win her back if one so choosed.

@ All y'all (lol)

Sometimes, I hate having an off-topic thread in addition to this place. We had a great conversation earlier amongst some of the old-timey folks about LIs in ME2 contrasting to those in ME1.

I happen to be of the opinion that all of the ME2 LIs were written to be a bit more "flingy" in nature so as to set-up the type of "Yeah, I slept with her ... but I've always loved YOU!" moment that PMA (I tend to give people nicknames ... if you hate it, let me know) mentioned above. I don't like it - and I certainly was never tempted to try - but I can acknowledge that it has to cater to an audience and BioWare will never do something to intentionally alienate a fanbase by not providing enough love options ... just look at, well, ME2 for evidence of that. And I 100% agree with what Kacy (again, nicknames) said about Cerberus and about what cheating would mean to Ash. But, I'm a realist. There's a girl I've come to admire and respect - but there's still someone writing her; and though I may disagree with it, I can't see them not making it an option to cheat and get back together, though there may be some hoop-jumping involved.

To basically copy what I wrote earlier in the off-topic thread ... I have some hope they'll treat the reconciliation properly with the dramatic weight and dignity that all characters involved (be it Ash and Shep or whoever else has cropped up in the interim) command and deserve. ME2 is supposed to be the dark angsty chapter and it admittedly (though it freaking sucks) makes sense to have relationships be dark and angsty as well. But there needs to be some sort of growth involved to span that bridge. What I absolutely could not stand is if they pick everything back up with the understanding that all's cool all of a sudden so the new folks can come play with a blank slate. No - we earned that reunion and that emotional rush, etc. I don't want the moment to be cheapened by a need to pander to the lowest common denominator - that being, those who pick up the third chapter of a three-story installment and expect the same things of the relationships we've spent the last two volumes building.

Am I the only one who doesn't really care who plays Ash in the movie because it will probably suck anyway? That's if she makes it in to begin with, she's a little complex for your average bear.

@SilverRose: Your last post is pretty much what I think (or at least hope) Bioware would do for the situation. ideally, those who cheated on Ash DO have to work on it to gain back her trust, and if those players truly believe that Ash is worth it, they will work at it. But I seriously think it should be hard, for any of the ME1 loves.

@drunken pyromaniac, I agree with you that if the movie is Shepard's story rather than another event in M.E. history, it will definately suck. I'm mainly participating in Ash casting speculation to be optimistic, but the truth is I don't have a lot of faith in a movie recreation of Shepard's story in the movie. That said, I can only hope that maybe Bioware will listen us on the candidates we have chosen and filter out to get the best.

Ahhh well, t'was a good bump and a bump with purpose nonetheless.

Anyway, to get the thread back on topic, I'm going to once again rehash my original topic starter:

How would you like Ashley and Shepard to meet up again in Mass Effect 3? Like the ideal scene, would it be on the citadel or a human ship or another colony and what would either party be doing when they bump into each other again?

Hmmm, seems conversation has died down here. I suppose now is as good as any time for a picture of Ashley:

Can I just say for the record this is one of my favourite shots of her because it also has Wrex and Garrus who were my other two favourites.

Yeah well, here's hoping she does get more than just a cameo and therefore can note how face up Shepard's picture of her on his desk is.

Why do i think they will just portray Ash as

Posted Image

or

Posted Image

They are both good characters, but Ash is unique and cant just be made into a copy for the big screen. But sadly Ash might be to complex for the average person watching it and her personality might confuse them, we dont want people thinking for themselves now do we lol.

In honesty I don't the game events will make a good movie. I mean ME1 is at least a 10 hr game, and the movie will last like 2.5 hr tops. I think the move will be very loosely based on the game, if at all. I wouldn't even be surprised they invented new characters to take place of game characters.

If they want to make this movie well, then they are going to rewrite stuff that us gaming fan won't like.
