Also:

1) Will turning away a ME2 love interest at the final scene count as cheating?

2) Will having the ME2 love interest die on the collector base count as cheating and get aknowledged?



What do you think?

I imagine it probably will be, after all Bioware did annouce that sticking with Ashey/Kaidan/Liara would be met with a positive result in Mass Effect 3. My guess is that maybe Ashley will either once again be recruitable to the team or will at least be a very significant NPC like what Anderson was in Mass Effect 1.
Either way, I expect the romance aspect to play into it one way or another and I hope it's just as well done as the first time round.

@Giggles: I have the 360 version, so I'm not sure about the PC version. I believe it was supposed to be released for both though. Also, I've never been tempted to cheat with an ME2 LI, so I can't help you there, either. As far as I'm concerned, there's one LI in the series, and that's Ash. Who could want anything else? <3

Um my Colonial/Sole Survivor after getting called a traitor? Not that it matters I have two other sheps who romanced her. Its easy to avoid romances with people in ME2 just dont talk to them besides upgrades, and getting their loyalty missions. Easy as cake. 

Wasent their supposed to be a vid-mail thing in ME2 like you could do in ME1 with the council? Ah well we got some amsome shooting gameplay so I guess it covers the story and lacks in gameplay! Image IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPB

I found both games equal in the story telling aspect. Just my opinion, though.
I believe there will be at least some result from 'staying loyal'.

I hope you are right about something happening for staying faithful. It better be good.  I hope Ashley has a huge role. I would hate for ME3 to end up a very expensive coaster.

I liked the charachters in ME2 a lot, and loved the finale since it actually was intense, but overall ME1 had a stronger story over ME2 to me. The "trimming" that ME2 got made it feel like a shooter game, with a dash of choices thrown in.

I believe she will definitely be involved, but must be interchangable with Kaidan. BioWare knew they were creating an exponential tree when they started the franchise.

I don't mind Kaidan or Ash pluging into the same slot. As long as they keep the characters individual, as long as they don't screw up Ash or Kaidan I am fine with that.

I bet that cheating will be handeled like this:



At the start Shep shows up at the Citadel again to explain what happened, and get a repair on the Normandy after the Suicide Mission. Ash is waiting near the entrance and before she can go up to shep the ME2 love interest come up, and Shep and Her embrace and make it obvious what is up. That would hurt Ash I bet and then she would hurt Shep I bet.



I hope that Shep's who cheated can say that they moved on, or not come off as scum since my only Shep who cheated on her felt betrayed just as much as she did.

I personally do not care what they do with cheating Shepards either. My guess is a similar scene as in ME1 where you must 'choose'.
But as you said, I won't be one - but because I never had one.

I really don't want cheating Shepards to have a choice. Ashley deserves better than that - though I can rationally accept that BioWare will have to make some concessions to the audience. Still ... I hope it isn't done in a manner that cheapens Ash's character. Though she may acknowledge that "we're not married, Shepard," I still would find it difficult to see her casting all aside in order to resume a relationship with someone who chose a different LI in ME2.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't remember her ever literally saying, "I've moved on". The e-mail gives the indication that there probably is no 'new guy' imo.
