Benezia
Michelle Forbes
Should have been Benezia in the first Mass Effect
Anyway the whole entire cast should be nothing but Kurt Russell and Tim Curry

Why are people suggesting an Asian looking guy for Kaidan, he's not Asian :/ More like Latin. For some reason I get an image of Michael Shanks in black hair but that would be kinda weird...besides, he talks nothing like Kaidan.
Kaidan Alenko is of partly Japanese descent, his name is even Japanese.

Doesn't really show IMO. I always though his either Latin or just dark in features. Thought the name is just a...well a video game name, haven't thought about it too much
Anyho, he just doesn't look THAT Asian

On Shepards role, Matthew Fox could pass as Shepard if looks are concerned. Do not know about his acting skills though, dont remember seeing him anywhere.
Seth Green as Joker is granted. Only Seth can be Joker and nobody else. There can be only one true Joker!

And now I direct you to X-men 3, Origins: Wolverine, and Spiderman 3. All crap.
Besides, if they're going to make crap movies for people that *aren't* fans of the series, they shouldn't advertise it to us. Then again, EA's in charge now... I suppose I should stop holding BioWare to a higher standard than all the other game developers.
And...? X-Men1 and Spider Man 1-2 were fantastic, but movies through history have had bad sequels no matter what they are based on. Point is that Xmen1 and first two Spider Men were proof that good comic based movies CAN be made.
Perhaps Mass Effect the movie could do the same? And about Shepard it doesnt matter if the movie is based on ME1 and if Shep is in it. There is no canon Shepard and the Shepard in a movie is just one possibility out of many. Its the story where he is involved and how it all is done and written, this is all that matters and this is where the movie will either succeed or fail, the fact that it would be based on first game matters a rats arse.

I'd simply put the guys that voice them.
When it comes to CGI characters, most likely all aliens other than Asari, this would be perfect choice.

When casting, they'd likely look for some actor to carry the main role who hasn't yet really been attached to a big blockbuster type movie, but has done some dramatic stuff (sort of how Jake Gyllenhall ended up in Prince of Persia, but not him b/c now he has PoP). They might get some established actors/actresses that are unlikely to get lead roles in big movies any more because they're "too old" by Hollywood standards. Outside of that, don't expect anyone you've ever heard of to play the roles (so doubt Sam Worthington would sign up for this, he's probably looking for something non-sci-fi now). They aren't going to have the budget to lure a lot of people, and it isn't the Harry Potter Franchise either, where a lot of actors will fall over themselves to be a part of it b/c of their kids begging them.

...again, why anybody else than Marina Sirtis?Benezia
Michelle Forbes
And Benezia is not like the character type which Michelle Forbes is loved for.

I've seen people screaming for Laurence Fishburne or Samuel L. Jackson as Captain Anderson too. Frankly it baffles my mind. I just chalk it up to the joys of the internet were everyone can voice an opinion, even if it is the most ridiculous load of tripe in existance.

Well it comes down to one thing, Marina Sirtis has a great voice (just watch the cartoon Gargoyles) but her actual onscreen acting ability? Pretty weak. Deanna Troi in TNG for instance could have been likeable in the hands of another but Sirtis had the most bizarre body language and facial expressions. That and she just doesn't have the right looks to pul off the all-powerful Benezia.
And how is playing a villain or a ballbreaker against Forbes' type? I'm not slagging you. I'm interested in your opinion.

Spartacus is one my favorite shows right now. I think that is good choice. He would make a great Shepard.

The right look? or the grand canyon size amount cleavage? Marina is older and can pull off Benezia just fine live action. Shes going to be done up with makeup or CGI rendered anyways so I dont see the physical issue. As stated her voice is great and its hardly like shes going to have that much time on the screen anyways. Even if the movie was 2 1/2 hours long Benezia doesnt really get that much face time in the game, let alone what shed have in the movie.

All of her characters, be they a Well-Intentioned Extremist (Cain) or just Chaotic Evil (Jeanette) or else, have a defining trait: they're all really tough. As individuals. Doesn't really compute with Benezia being indoctrinated and not even in control of her actions.Images wrote...

Unless they rewrite things so that Benezia is the main villian rather than Saren.
I think it might make sense to do that for several reasons. First, Benezia has more personal history that the audience can learn, because of her daughter Liara being a potentially major character as well. Second, Asarii, even with makeup or cgi still have human faces and that can help convey emotion better than just relying on dialog, posture and voice as they'd have to do for Saren. There just seems to be more potential to play up the drama and tragedy with Benezia than Saren, and its not like either one offers a bigger action/adventure angle. If anything, a super-powerful "kill you with her mind" several hundred year old matriarch seems like the bigger threat in a fight than a Turian, even if he was a spectre.
Not to mention, , I bet the potential to play a powerful, sexy character would draw in some well known actresses who are past leading lady age. Unknowns are cheaper, sure, but recognizable names/faces can help sell a movie (as long as their salary isn't too huge). Marina could work, but she's not really a "draw" as an actress, and as someone else noted, she's not that great an actress (even if her voicework is fine). She might bring in a few people from her fanbase from Star Trek, but basically she's sort of like an "unknown" being cast in the role, not like casting Sigourney Weaver. Of course, Weaver just did Avatar, so she may not really be hungry for another Sci-Fi adventure, but I'm sure some of her peers are thinking they could do something like that too.
