I think Udina is a well done character with good voice work, I can remember nearly all of his lines word for word and I cant say the same for alot of the other characters. Like him or hate him its still fun listening to him. I'd like to see the voice actor as he's delivering some of those lines, he puts so much energy into every thing he says, lol.

To those discussing Udina as a positive
character, I would like to point out that in Ascension, a Cerberus
operative points out that he prefers Udina to Anderson. It is  a hint
towards Udina either supported/funded or liked by Cerberus.

If you argue for the destruction of the council (renegade), rachni
(renegade) and saving the indoctrinating collector base with reaper
technology for a xenophobic black ops organisation (thus strengthening
humanity, while weakening other races), then Udina is your man.

You know that's true. Maybe I should amend my list of three favorite voice acting jobs in ME1/2.

Udina's speech at the end of ME1 was infinitely times better than Anderson's.

I'm giving this thread a bump. Anyone see Udina on Omega in those videos? What was he doing there, exactly?

If I ever met Udina I would want to punch him in the face. That said, he's a great character who adds a lot to the series, and his voice acting is very well done. I like that he doesn't mess around when it comes to the Batarians, either.

It`s a fact finding mission, to facilitate trade exports and cultural programs bettewn the Citadel and Omega. He was meerly observing genuine Asari culture up close.

That's how he justifies it when he writes it off on his taxes, anyway.

Elias Kelham is the only other character from the Citadel who has a video in Omega. It could be that they were meeting in secret.

Could be // could not be it`s hard with the Shadow brokers video apparently he didn`t belive in dating videos, which would haved made easier to link events. But looks like the new Canon from revelations is going to be Udina is now a Councilor, I doubt Anderson would reliquish his position to someone he though was a threath.

Maybe we can expect some redemption from Udina when he sees the reaper threat is real.

Funny thing, I noticed from Lotsb in many threaths about the videos Sb had on udina is " My god what was he doing on omega with the Asari dancer/stripper" he must be up to something. Yet Shepard can do the exact samething probebly with the same dancer, yet no one seems disturbed. Udina`s reputation is just that bad, everything he does has to be evil/corrupt in some way.

Udina is a really well made character. He's like the antagonist that isn't exactly your enemy. He's not supposed to be someone people like, and most people don't. I always respect those who can make despicable characters. :]

Precisely, Udina is in it for himself. It doesn`t make him evil, that precisely the word despicable. I think when the reapers are proven real Conselor Udina is going to be very supportive of Shepard to save his own skin and take the glory that he was fully behind Shepard in the begining of Me1.

He`s an intressing character that deserves more that being, Anderson`s punching bag

Hmm... Haven't seen any other Udina tread around =) I'm finally playing a shep who will choose Udina. It will be fun how that plays out in the end. You don't see to much of either Anderson or Udina in ME2. Do you think that they will have a bigger role in ME3? Anyways, had fun reading this tread. Interesting to see Udina from a new perspective.

But Udina wasn't siding with the Council on grounding the Normandy because it wasn't the Council's decision to ground the Normandy, it was his.

Try reading between the lines sometime. It is clear from that entire confrontation what the Council wanted. They nodded to Udina and he gave it to them. His motivations are clearly explained, "There are serious political implications here, Shepard. Humanity has made great  gains thanks to you, but now you're becoming more trouble than you're worth."

This "Udina grounded the Normandy" is one of the greatest myths of Mass Effect. Although it leaves a plot black hole in the story, because at that point Udina (Alliance ambassador) had absolutely zero authority over the Normandy (Council spectre's ship, transfered from Alliance 63rd Scout Flotilla to the Citadel Protection Force or something).

But Udina is not your favorite cookie-treatin' auntie. He is a choleric polititian. So people hate him and won't see reason.

If Udina didn't ground the Normandy, then why is his computer all that is necessary to unground it?

Udina is awesome, his over-theatrics when addressing the council in ME1 were epic.

Hell yeah.

He's a total douchebag, but easily the coolest in the series so far.
