I want Donnell Udina as Shepard's defense attorney in ME3. There is no other option!

I most defiinetly love to hate Udina. And I love how my Shepy tells him how high on the list of people she doesnt want to see he is and he goes like ditto.
Basicaly I wouldnt trust the guy with anything. He loves power for power itself, speaks of human interests but at the end it is about his interests and he is just this annoying little pesky w***e; but heck, such people do exist and he should most definetly be around in me3.
My Shepy thinks that Udina is actualy connected with Cerberus in some way.

Udina will be my guinea pig when I'm experimenting with husk technology.

"This is an outrage!"

"No Udina, this is a Dragon's tooth and I want you to lay down right here."

*shoves Udina onto spike base and straps him there*

"Ha ha ha. Muahahahaha! ARHA HA HA HA HA! Ho, ho, he he hoo."

I would agree that he likes the power. But I wonder of it is how much of it is HE thinks he can be humanity's best advocate, versus going into it simply for power's sake.  I do think when he grounds Shepard, he sees rising influence in his eyes.  But the Council all but hinted at Udina, *stop your damn fellow human, he's not reasonable!*

And really, before the Shepard/Saren business, he was in a pretty thankless job.

I haven't been an Udina lover, admittedly. I was thinking about it yesterday, and he's a great, interesting character.  He's certainly one of the few that questions  Shepard's sanity (which I like in the game--really, Shepard pulls some odd sh!t), and I think he could be a better councillor than Anderson, and I'm willing to be that 90% of people chose Anderson to be Councillor in 90% of their playthroughs (assuming they have multiple ones).

Oh, I am preaty sure that in Udinas mind he is the very best that humanity has to offer but that certainly isnt so. He does have his skills as even Anderson points out. Udina didnt need any hint for grounding Shepy, he himself wanted it to be such.
I will also not deny that he does want humanity to shine bright and forward its political power in the Milky Way, he just has some side agenda also.
His wanting humanity to be alfa and omega in the Galaxy also makes him perfect for co-operation with Cerberus.

And really, before the Shepard/Saren business, he was in a pretty thankless job.

Well... Presidium is for the rich. He isnt somewhere in the Wards. He does have a hard job though, no doubt at that, but considering that he is THE ambassador, definetly not a "lovely" job on the Citadel itself but just think about how he would be percived back on Earth (or how he is percived). He strikes as someone who would most definetly love to live in luxury.

I agree with that, he is interesting character with great lines and his wanting to see proofs is nicely realistic, but at same time as Counsil wants to see proofs also before acting, he doesnt have so-much-of-an-ah-impact, Shepy would still have to present one, Udina or no Udina. He just needs to be in game because he sums up about-oh-lets-say 90% of politicans in rl thus it would be outrageous discrimination to remove him from a game.

Anderson...well... he seems slightly pale in the contrast to grand Udina. Who is better as a Councilor... well, probably a genetic merge between them would be perfect... little Anderson Udinas running around Presidium...ok... scary thought....:alien:

Anyhow, Udina for ME3, YES SIR!

Udina is all-powerful and reminds me of Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars.....you don't want to mess with him......this is how I picture a confrontation between Shepard (with Garrus and Thane) and Udina:

UDINA: Commander Shepard, I take the reapers have been defeated? I must say, you're here sooner than expected.
SHEPARD: In the name of the Galactic Senate of the Republic (draws gun), you're under arrest Chancellor!
UDINA: Are you threatening me, Commander Shepard?
SHEPARD: The Senate will decide your fate!
UDINA: (Evil Voice) I am the Senate!
SHEPARD: Not yet!
UDINA: (Draws lightsaber) It's treason then

(fight scene: Udina screams and jumps across room and quickly kills Garrus and Thane, slaps Shepard's gun from his hand. Dramtic fight scene ensues, Shepard is forced to use biotic powers against Udina's lightsaber. After approximately three minutes, Shepard had a defeated Udina pinned up against a large open window)

SHEPARD: You are under arrest, My Chancellor!
(Admiral Hackett walks in)
UDINA: Hackett, I told you it would come to this! I was right! The Spectres are taking over!
SHEPARD: The oppression of the Sith will never return! You have lost!
UDINA: NO, NO, NO! YOU WILL DIE!! (Uses biotic power and shoots bolts of electricity from his hands at Shepard, Shepard struggles to withstand with his own biotics)
UDINA: HE'S THE TRAITOR!
SHEPARD: HE IS THE TRAITOR, AAAARRRGGGH!!!!
UDINA: (At Hackett) I HAVE THE POWER TO SAVE THE ONE YOU LOVE! YOU MUST CHOOSE!
SHEPARD: DON'T LISTEN TO HIM HACKETT!
UDINA: DON'T LET HIM KILL ME! AARRGGHH!! (Shepard begins to get the better of him) I CAN'T HOLD IT ANY LONGER! I...I...I....I CAN'T....WEAK.....I'M TOO WEAK...HACKETT (Udina finally relinquishes his biotics and collapses) HELP ME! I....I..can't hold on any longer.
SHEPARD: I'M GOING TO END THIS, ONCE AND FOR ALL!
HACKETT: You can't, he must stand trial!
SHEPARD: HE HAS CONTROL OF THE SENATE AND THE COURTS! HE'S TOO DANGEROUS TO BE LEFT ALIVE!
UDINA: I'm too weak...don't kill me....please!
HACKETT: It's not the Alliance way! He must Live!
SHEPARD: (Picks up gun from floor and aims at Udina)
UDINA: Please! Don't!
HACKETT: I NEED HIM!
(Shepard ****s gun)
UDINA: Please don't!
(Shepards prepares to shoot)
Hackett: NO!!!! (Draws lightsaber and chops off Shepard's gun arm)
SHEPARD: AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! HACKETT!!!! WHY?
UDINA: (Attacks with his lightning biotic again) POWER! (Shepard starts burning alive) UNLIMITED POWER! (Shepard flies out of the window, with the force of Udina's biotic power)
HACKETT: (Horrified) WHAT HAVE I DONE? (Collapses to his knees)
UDINA: You are fulfilling your destiny, Admiral Hackett.....

Anyway, hope you enjoyed!

I actually like Udina. I've ranted about this before other places, but there's no place like the Udina thread for it!. Lol.

Udina is actually the "best" choice for coucilor. I've only chosen him once cause my Shep's all feel closer to Anderson, but Udina is actually a better councilor. You know you're not getting help from the council with the Reapers anyway, so why waste Anderson's time working with them? Udina will actually work on stuff that has a chance of being affected, human interests. Everybody is out for their own interests in politics, humanity needs a councilor who will do that as well.

That, and I just love Udina. I love listening to him and being mad at him. X)

Udina is funny. I always make him Councilor. For every time Councilor Velarn does his air quotes thing I know that Udina's already done two things to ****** him off.

If you are using quick replay then try to use the "Post replay" (blue button on top of the screen). You have the smilys there then at the bottom. ;)

Do you think Udina ever feels warm fuzzyness?

Hey, I can do the smiley faces! Thanks Shanya, I couldn't have done it without you!:D I shall toast to you with my heartiest wine!

In regards to your question, Udina doesn't strike me as the warm and fuzzy type. Especially if he's anything like Emperor Palpatine. Perhaps, he gets a sort-of grand Germanic imperial presence lurking heavily at the bottom of his stomach or bowels?

Good Luck and Stay Safe :)

It sometimes seems like I am the only person in the world who chose Udina to be councilor. Here are my reasons:

A)Udina is good at what he does. You need to be ruthless in that job.

B)Don't you hate the turian Councilor? Sic Udina on him!!!!!
:bandit:

C) I knew, even before I read Retribution, that Anderson belongs out in the field. How did I know that? Don't mess with his fries!:

Yey, you can do the smiley faces!:wizard: Its is OUTRAGEous magic! Glad that I contributed to your newly dicovered smilynez, to that I myself toat you with the esxuisit bottle of Sarice Ice Brandy.:D

Well, I dont know... maybe when he gets home, puts all the curtains down and turns out the lights so that nobody can see him? Every Udina needs some fuzzy-something at least... maybe he is the type that is all hardened on outside but crys himself to sleep with a fuzzy-teaddybear?:o Maybe all that he is realy missing in life is some luv? :crying: At least here, in this topic he is getting some of it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did choose Udina once, didnt have good feeling about it tho, I dont know, I just love his reaction after you say "Anderson". But I do agree, after some thinking Udina does strike me as a better choice, or better put, an necesary evil. :alien: Didnt read any books that is, I just play the game, so my feelings come only from there. I still say that he is marvelous character.B)

Hahaha I like the way your mind works. Yeah, you're probably right, nothing wrong with having a soft centre and he might very well take matters into his own hands behind closed doorsB) After long spells without fuzziness, such a prospect becomes less farfetched..........God knows, I should know.............:crying:

I love Udina. I just want to give him a hug at the end of ME3 and say, "I forgive you."

And he will shed a single tear and regret every time he belittled and shouted at me. He will apologize, and we will both shed manly tears in each other's embrace. And a friendship will be born, that will burn brighter than all the stars in the galaxy!

Or I might just give him his job back and tell him to stay off my ass and let me do MY job.

I'm sick of this forum and its anti-Udina BULL-!
