I'm curious as to what you guys would like the main plot of Dragon Age 2 to be about. Share your opinions with me.

(One of the options is a little facetious. Try to figure out which one! )

A new Blight! With two arch dragons at once and you have to join the mother or other one to beat them....

no new blight!

but an evil group of blood mages, who have united in one kingdom attacking other lands ... and their alliance with barbarians, and villains in other lands

go to tevinter maybe search old ruins that worship the old gods encounter blood mages probably learn how the taint was created possibly or at least some hard evidence to compare to the chantry, or maybe find stuff that supports the chantry who knows. learn about andraste and the maker as well.

overall just learn about thedas and visit some nations maybe orlais and fereledon go to war or an exalted march on tevinter anything but another blight that would be kind of meh maybe in DA 3 or DA 2:Expac

Modest! Modesty in excess!

I couldn't suggest any specifics, I'm not a creative person, but I'd like a plot that isn't supposed to be urgent. As much as I liked all the side-quests and romances in Origins, it felt a bit odd doing all that while I was supposed to be saving the world.

As long as it DOESN'T include
1. Orlais
2. excessive journeys to the fade
I'll consider it a win

Personally I'd like to see it set in Tevinter, maybe something to do with a subplot dealing with the Qunari invasion, with the main focus being the tevinter mages trying to sieze greater power again.  Plenty of room for both choice driven  political intrigue and battles.

I'd like some sort of political plot. The PC discovering evil schemes behind the scenes.

I'd like the main antagonist to not be known right away this time, but the PC discovering something is wrong and investigating it, while slowly the pieces of the puzzle come together.

I would also like the amnesiac plot around the PC:) sure maybe it would be cliche by this point, but I just LOVE the PC waking up in some strange place with no idea who or where they are and starting to investigate XDXDXD

I was actually going to say I'd like it to involve Orlais and the Orlaisian Empress.  Seems to be a lot of history there Between them and the Fereldans

But even more interesting than that, at least to me, would be something involving the Dalish Elves.  Maybe one of the Keepers to some clan has stumbled upon some sort of ancient artifact or treaty that can guarantee the Dalish get a new homeland or reclaim their lost lands.

This would put them in direct conflict with the Chantry and whatever tentative peace they negotiated with their help to defeat the Fereldan Blight and cause uprisings in the city alienages.  It would be cool to see the elves either get a new homeland for themselves, or be wiped out completely.

The reason for my Orlais hate is Isolde, I can't imagine sitting through 60+ hours listening to those over the top faux french accents from 500 NPC's. The setting itself is fairly interesting, (although still not on the level of Tevinter imho)

I bet whatever it is there will be those darkspawn somewhere. I am looking more inclined to a Qunari invasion. I want to see what female Qunari looks like...Sten never did tell me.

i WOULD LIKE FOR our new grey warden to go to Orlesia to meet up with the Grey Wardens there and see how their situation is run so he gets an Idea how to run the castle he just overtook from demon in the last story. If it's a strategic castle, why shouldn't the Grey Wardens be barracked there? Throw in some blood magi like the other people have said, check out some ruins, meet up with those nasty trees. How about adding a druid class? While wandering thru the forest they come upon an encampment of druids who are friends with the forest nymphs. Just an idea......

Lady (Ladies) of the forest(s) will be a cool return char... isn't she a type of nymph?

There are a couple of ideas I could see for Dragon Age 2 based on some of the decisions made towards the end of Origins and Awakening. But the only way it works continuity wise is if certain decisions were made towards the end of these games, so I don't think they'll go that way. I hope it's at least an optional sidequest.

I for one am hoping that the plot for Dragon Age 2 is more personal to the character you are playing (sort of like Planescape Torment) instead of the usual "Hero joins elite group and saves the world" stories that Bioware has been telling lately.

The end of Origins has the perfect set up for this type of story (depending on the choice you make) and it will be interesting to see what Bioware does with it.

id like it to stay story and storymechanic wise as close as possible to DAO ...and it has to be
if they wanna show progression the game has to offer a couple of hours more gameplay than DAO
if they wanna show progression they gotta deliver WORKING difficulty modes for the mainstream and hardcore ppl
if they wanna show progression they should release a very stable client free of gamebreaking bugs and glitches

with everything else i can live tbh

Yes, she was quite a character....very cool but alas she died. I suupose she was a kind of nymph and i would like to see her return as risen again....a water nymph....cool and refreshing.

Now i think more about it i kind of like the idea of an Orlais story. That place sure holds many opportunities for some great story telling.

Fight either with/against (spoiler) Morrigan's Old God baby, with the Chantry on the other side. Or at least something centering around the Morrigan plot

Personally I think it would be rather cool if in Dragon Age 2 it turns out that you are Morrigans baby, the child born with the soul of an old god.

She never really can die because of the forest is her life force, it might take time to regain her str.  She is not a fade soul (she said it herself even) so those rules do not apply to her...

Something morrigan's child. Taking control of darkspawn, controlling gates to the fade, causing havoc and chaos, for epic adventure.
