I have two characters that have entered the last battle in Denerim. My experience is that I'm stuck since I can't beat the enemy with no remaining healing potions or injury kit. My first question is to ask if it's possible to exit that battle and return to the outside world to resupply? Have the two Generals some weak points? One character won the defense of the alienage and I returned to the market district to find a general here together with other creatures. My allied army won't follow me but stay at the entrance of the alienage. Why? Have I maybe entered the battle of Denerim prematurely?

Once you reach Denerim I think the only place to resupply is after you enter Fort Drakon, if you really need more supplies you'll have to reload. Weaknesses; death / misdirection hexes on the general in the market and mana-clash on the one in the alienage do the trick for me, but I guess it depends how you made your group. Not sure what's going on with the allied troops, I haven't used them before.

Edit: do you mean they won't follow from the alienage to the market? I doubt they can follow you between areas, you probably need to call new allies after entering each area.

No not from the alienage. Has to be the troops called when I first was in the markety district.

One of my characters did enter Fort Drakon and I don't see how to resuplpy there.

You can always lower the difficulty to easy.
Do you have a mage that can heal with you? I almost never needed healing potions. Also try luring the enemies to you one by one, Alienage general was always tougher for me because you can fight the other general alone.

EDIT: in the fort there's Sandal the dwarf in front of the entrance to an upper level of the fort. You can buy things from him.

If for some reason your allies are clumping in one area, you can always send out one companion to lure the bad guys back to your allies. I'd use Dog (he's the fastest) or someone with Indominitable.

All the tricks you've learned so far still work. CC, area attacks, Scattershot, etc, etc.

Yeah, unfortunately you have to make it to the fort.  And the battle at the gates of the fort is very painful...one of the most difficult in the game.

And he sells 3 Greater Spirit Balms. Can be good to have in the Archdemon fight.

Difficulty is already at easy. Actually suddenly in the some stages it usually sufficed with one blow to take out a darkspawn and I wondered if something was wrong. Easy is sometimes a little bit to easy and then almost impossible to beat.

In one of the party I have Wyne and Morrogan and in the other only Morrigan.

Yes I finally got further inside Fort Drakon by quickle retreat which made the enemy come one by one most of the part.
In the market districy this seems more difficult. The general won't come alone.

You have to call the army again in each places you go.

When you first enter Denerim all the enemies are ~level 10 for some reason, you can one-hit them on nightmare too, seemed quite a crude way of handling the 'storming the city' but oh well.

Does either mage have force field? If you're having too much trouble just have a warrior pull the general and any ogres that follow it, use taunt, then put force field on him, should protect him long enough for the rest of the group to kill the ogres then you can kill the general on its own.
