I have looked through the boards and on-line in general but not seen any answer to my (maybe slightly odd question)
I quite liked the idea of the spell "Mana Drain" but found it only works on enemies that have mana, although there
are quite a few spell casters in the game I usually try and kill them ASAP leaving no time to drain any of there mana.
I decided to make my own mod that drains mana from casters as normal but can also drain stamina from non-casters but I only get back 1/2 the mana instead.
Changing the spell script etc was easy enough and I tested it quite a lot in game with my main char successfully, I did discover a very strange bug though...
If I setup any tactics involving mana drain it will NOT work unless 2 very specific conditions are met.
1. It has to be set up in the first 3 tactic slots any lower and it will never fire
2. it has to have the 'condition' of 'nearest enemy' otherwise it will never fire
I am using a few other mods like 'Advanced tactics' and some DLC (not awakening) but I can't find any reason for this strange bug. I'm sure there is some kind of intelligence on the casting of the spell that a Non played character will not use it unless its on a mana using enemy but I cant find a script or anything to prove that.
Anyone have any idea what’s going on?
