is there a way he can talk without a Dutch-sounding accent? How hard is it to hide accents? Or can he just move his lips while Mike Meer speaks his scripts?

btw Mark Vanderloo is the Dutch model as default Shepard on the ME box covers.

no complaint from me but is a thread really needed when a mod already made a official thread on the mass effect movie?

Dub Meer's voice. Simple.

Although I'd think it logical to not have Shep in the movie (unless I've missed some confirmation he is or something). The games are Shep's story, and seeing as quite a few people see Shep as female and the like, could cause...dissent?

It probably would, like when they made Revan a guy. But big deal, it's nothing to stop playing ME for.

This thread isn't about the movie, just an aspect of the movie.

Ah, the return of bad lip synching ftw.

What's more, Vanderloo isn't buff enough to be Shepard ... just like Yvonne isn't lumpy enough to be Miranda.
Just sayin'

LMAO. Wow. I thought it was just me... like, "What the hell is up with this chick's ass in this game... and why are her breasts all droopy yet perky?" They so didn't model Miranda's asymmetrical ass having character after Yvonne (blond, awesome symmetrical bod, sexy, doesn't look like a tranny, and just totally hot!).:pinched:

they should have gave her a sexier stripper's space cadet uniform and made her blond or something...

...it would suck. The guy is like 42 yrs old, and Shepard is 29 at the time of ME1. I'm not asking much Legendary, but please god find an actor in the right age group. I'm sick of 27 yr old teens, and 45 yr old 20-somethings in film.

yo man.... Tom Cruise fits any role perfectly... at any age. B) plus he sounds like shepard (mark meer), adding that whole Mission Impossible-Minority Report flare to the scene...
why not cast Johnny Depp, or Tom Cruise (perfect all rounded actors)?

Chris Pine is a younger actor... did great in Star Trek and Smoking Aces. ...
Ryan Reynolds... could be a nice choice.

Henry Cavill ("The Tudors") is the natural choice to play Default Shepard.

Tom Cruise makes any movie suck. Case in point, War of the Worlds.

So it's the actor's fault that a movie is crappy.

And what do directors do?

That's the same as saying it's Obsidian dev's fault and not LA's that KOTOR 2 wasn't generally well received.

People forget the movie is based on ME1 not ME1 and 2.

Is it? I though they just said it would be based on the Mass Effect universe, not any game in particular. I am one of those who hope not to see Shepard in the movie at all, cause it would totally ruin the games, in my opinion.

It would ruin the game because you don't want to see a movie. Makes sense.

Where has that been said? I am pretty sure you are making that up.

BioWare has a history of creating fiction outside of the story of their games, but intertwining. The books, comics and even Galaxy are a great example. I highly doubt they will not do the same given a new medium. Why tell the same story again as they have in the games? Given BWs track recored I would say (and hope) it is unlikely.

Henry Cavill huh? The only thing of the Tudors I've seen is that hot scene with Gabrielle Anwar on the boat, but I just looked again to make sure and...yeah, he definitely looks like a Shepard.

Can he pull off an action hero, Mark Meer type of voice?
