I'm sure this would never happen, but what the hell...

I would really like to see a DLC pack which improves the relationships of the characters and Shepard. This would include additions like

- Having crew people walk around, use the lift, go into medbay etc.
- Having the crew and team interacting with each other instead of sitting in static isolated locations
- Conversations between team members while on missions
- Comments from team members while on missions
- More Romance options, such as the ability to continue your Romance after the Collector Base, and the ability to do more thins with your LI. (Such as go out on a date)
- Adding a mission where SHEPARD returns to Acuze (spelled correctly?) or Torfin in order to face HIS/HER past. (Squadmates brought along would make comments)

Again, I doubt this will ever happen, but I think it's a good idea to tell Bioware what we want in terms of character interraction so that they might impliment it later on in DLC or ME3.

I don't know about the 'more romances' part, but I do agree with the rest.

Thats a great idea, I had similar thoughts and I see we're not the only ones. I Highly doubt they'll do that for DLC but would be an excellent addition to ME3. Me2 is way more lively than ME1, so I could see this happening, or at least somethings similar to what you have mentioned.

Mostly good ideas, however I don't think we'll see anything like that before ME3. I could (hopefully) be wrong and this or some of this is planned DLC in the near future.

That all depends on whether they can get all the squadmate voice actors to do a DLC, an expansion, or just Mass Effect 3.

I'd support this, particularly if ME 1 LIs are included in the Romance options.

And yeah, it's not likely to happen, but we can dream.

True, although I'm pretty sure Bioware has most of the "celeb" voice actors back for part 3. I read somewhere that Martin Sheen will be back as TIM, although I can't say if it was from a legitimate source or not.

I think it's kind of 50/50 if we'll go back to Torfan or Akuze in the future. So far, the only thing from your past that made it to ME2 was your mother sending you an e-mail for spacer background Sheps. Toombs (if you let him live) e-mails everyone with the "WTF? You're with Cerberus now??"

Someone let me know if there's something like that for the ruthless background Sheps in ME2.

Agreed, it'd be cool to have the squadmates walk around the ship, but there is a minor problem. Anyone here ever play Fallout 3? In that game the characters move and go wherever the hell they want, and this causes finding them a tad difficult. I don't want to have to go up and down the Normandy because Thane decided it'd be fun to play tricks on me and go hide in the medbay, then in the hangar, then in the armory...

The DLC related to Shep's backstory is a great idea too. And it would definitely be cooler if your squaddies talked more. I'd gladly pay $2 for a "Banter pack" that increases squadmate dialogue.

I personally think one of the best additions that was included in the Kasumi DLC was not the inclusion of a new mission, character, or weapon. But rather the fact that Kasumi talks about EVERYTHING going on in the ship. She has a new comment after every mission, she seems to know who your LI is at the time and heck she even mentions generic Cerberus crew member drama!

I am definitely for a "Banter" or "Characterization" DLC pack.

The problem with Kasumi and Zaeed though is that you can't have a conversation with them. While squad 'banter' during missions would have the same issue, it would still involve two characters speaking about something and not just a list of disjointed comments as we get from Kasumi and Zaeed.

My main point was just to praise the inclusion of more dialogue from squadmates whether it be disjointed or not.  I want to hear their opinions on subjects whether it is before, during or after a certain mission.  I'd be able to RP a really cool Shepard a lot better when I actually knew my crew members' stance on certain subjects instead of just infurring them.

Agreed.

I also found the whole trigger system for comments on hub worlds a bit annoying. Triggers were few and far between. and really gave us no insight into the characters.

As interesting as this would be, I doubt Shepard would even get a moment of character development.  Funny how what character development does occur, it's all indepdent, big asides.  (Just not for Shepard.)

I think this is a great idea. I'd really enjoy seeing something like this, and I think it would add some major replayability since many people would go back through to experience it.

The main thing to add is more interaction among the characters.

You look at games like Baldur's Gate, and some of the best character development came from interactions between the NPCs. It wasn't all driven by the PC. I'd like to see more interactions between the NPCs, with and without major involvement by the player. More things like the Miranda / Jack fight. There are so many awesome characters, such diversity, but there isn't much interaction among the squad.

If Bioware did a DLC like this, it could also include some of the other major fan desires, such as something with the ME1 LIs.

I doubt we will see it, but who knows?

How did NPC relations work in Baldur's gate?

In Baldur's Gate, there was quite a bit of party banter. Sometimes you would be walking around a city, and two of your NPCs would start a conversation with each other. This would then launch a sub-plot that might only be resolved after several more of these conversations. The NPCs developed relationships with each other, often interacting in ways that didn't even need much player input. Really made the game feel like you had a party of characters, not just a leader and a bunch of isolated followers.

That is one of the things that I wish we would see more of in games like ME and DAO. We get a little, but not nearly enough. This would be especially nice in ME where you are building a team for a suicide mission, as the main driver of the storyline and action. We get a few interactions, but not enough to make me feel as though the squad members have really developed relationships with anyone on the crew other than Shep. I love that Joker, the Engineers, and a few others have lots of little comments about the squad members, but I'd love to see a little subplot where Grunt or someone is bugging the cook for extra rations.

More scenes like the Jack / Miranda encounter would be awesome.
