[Grimmwor Runeforger]

So I am in the Upper Level of the Dalish Elven Ruins.  The door to the Werewolves is locked and the only other way to go is through the chamber with the dragon.  He's a little guy, but he is beating my party down BADLY.  I can't beat him.  So far there have been a few fights that I've had to do over a few times, but overall I have felt like the combat has been well balanced.  I've fought this battle about 20 times and I am not even getting close.  Anyone have any tips?  My guy is a 7th level mage.  Is it possible to Petrify the dragon?  He always resists this spell.  Other party members are the dog, Alistair and Leliana....

I'm not sure about petrifying but I remember that I can freeze the dragon

I thinkyou can use vulnerability hex and then he's susceptible to freezing attacks. Morrigan has both if your mage doesn't. I relied on Morrigan's spells heavily when I beat him with Sten, dual wield rogue PC, Dog and Morrigan.

OK, I will go back to camp and pick up Morrigan and give it another shot...will have to wait until after work :-(

You might also try having someone pull the dragon into a choke-point (like a doorway) and kill her there. I used fire resists and a lot of poultices on my tanks and had Morrigan use almost exactly what MrGOH suggested. Just be careful/aware that your tank may want to use shield wall to avoid having your caster die. The dragon can use an aoe knockdown and go directly after the casters...
