I was planning to make my main character a spirithealer focusing solely on healing, buffs and crowd control with a LARGE mana pool. The idea is to be able to continuosly be able to heal, CC and buff my party through long battles.

Will getting wisp + spellmight be good enough to stop magic at about 40 to focus solely willpower?

Any advice is welcome :)

I'd imagine you'd be fine. Although to be honest you probably dont' need the willpower either. My character was an AW/Spirit Healer and I had enough mana to do all the healing the party needed on normal even while in warrior mode and while starting most fights by draining 3/4 of my mana with CC and damage effects.

I can't help but think that if you really want to play an uber spirit healer, you should just play as Wynne.  Her plot based unique ability is ridiculous.  Solves most mana issues AND gives you a ton of extra spellpower.  I recall having as much as 90sp around level 14 with a couple other buffs, I may be exaggerating a tad though, but it was much much higher than 40...

the problem with wynne is that she tries to kill you every 2 minutes. She is incredible unstable and self rightious.

My Mage is more or less just that. I am planning to get Spirit Healer (Level 14, but haven't unlocked it yet) and will probably take Blood Mage up as a second specialization (Going to test it out a bit, got 7 unused spell slots)

Currently only has creation abilities and is a focused healer + buffer + partly CCer.

I have, according to my profile (Which isn't correct in story and spells), 42 Magic and 30 Willpower. Wynne seems to run out of mana quicker than I do, I do have Spell Wisp on at all times (No spell might).

Works very well, though the last stuff I have done I have also taken Wynne with me (Trying to get her approval up for that damn specialization). Got more than enough healing packed currently, but severely lack damage. Ironically my Mage has about 40% of the total damage, by using Arcane Bolt, the Swarm and regular attacks.

Is this something you get from maxing out influence or what?

I have only played through the game far enough for it once.  Not very long at all after I picked her up from the circle mage tower on a random encounter (while traveling).  It looks like an ordinary ambush but before it even starts a mini story-related event occurs and she gets it.  Or at least, she tells you she will "talk to you about what happened at camp after" and then you get it.  Forget exactly when it ends up in your talent tree.  But it is amazing.

The ability itself is a self buff that grants full mana minus the upkeep cost and then gives about +20 spellpower, or at least the level I was using it.  It has minor penalties and it seems to have a duration, but even though I pretty much use it on boss encounters, which tend to be long, it never seems to wear off until the combat is already over (and the negative effects are temporary so they have no impact).  The ability alone makes her one of the most powerful mages in the game.  The graphic is bad ass as well.

Forgot to add, it had nothing to do with influence from what I could tell.  Perhaps you should just try traveling around a bit more.

Yeah, got it. You have to talk to her enough times to get her to tell you about the spirit she has a bond with.

In response to the original question, no I don't believe it does. Most spells scale with your magic ability, so a low magic = a low bonus from spell wisp. When I first got spell wisp it gave a 5 bonus to spell power, I believe it currently gives eight or nine as my magic has increased.

It'll help mitigate a low magic of course, but unless you buy it up, you're going to get a lower return. Not to mention your magic scales all spells and the resistance to those spells. Enemies are more likely to be stunned or frozen, and heals heal more.
