that's quite late, I think he's level 8 when I get him...

I know, but I'm a completionist, so I do everything I can as soon as I can. I start my first main quest around Level 12, and generally gain about 2 levels during the quest, so Zevran joins up at 14.

I absolutely hate Sandal. If he says "Enchantment!" one more time I will run him through with my starfang.

Actually scratch that.. ISOLDE!  OMG!!  I hate her.  DIE DIE DIE!

I love how manipulative Morrigan is.. "I know, because I do it too." LOL. No, really.. I do.

The Architect for creating a bug which destroyed all of my Warden-Commander's gear in his mine... Plus my own character for not creating a save before entering the mine. Stupid woman, you should know that bioware would do something like this. Save damn you!

I am now branching out my frustration and anguish over several different threads. That's how game-breaking this bug is for me

companions? Oghren, He just turned my stomache, It was hard to find any really redeemable thing about him for me, he had one or two lines of funny banter but mainly he should have had his beard tied together so he couldnt speak.

Npcs, definately, Howe, Loghain, Goldana, Branka and Isolde. BLECH.... Eamon comes close in that pile too. I wanted to be able to hack them all apart, only was able to 3 tho :( what a shame.

I'm starting to hate Alistair and have decided to dump him in Lothering in favor of a respecialized Sten. Of all the NPC's I've tried in the party, his AI seems to be the poorest and I have finally had enough of his lagging behind the rest of the party.

Depends, If i'm a Human Noble definately Howe, otherwise Isolde and Branka wich is why I always go for Cardin. My least favourite party member would probably be Oghren I didn;t really need another 2h person and he is a regular Drunk.

Oh, I've never posted before but I've got some hate to share.

I've come to truly hate Wynn.  She's a know-it-all who is incredibly useless, more or less, when you get her.  Leliana's accent makes me want to gag her with her chantry robe.  (Though I liked her much better when I played a male character...go figure.)

Characters?  Oh, I loathe Isolde with a passion.  I always say the meanest possible thing I can no matter what character just for that bit of satisfaction.  I've started killing Connor now too just to see her crushed (actually I punch her and then kill the kid...oh so wonderful).  Killing her is too merciful.  If I could only kill Connor and  then Isolde, life would be grand.

I truly hate Anora, too.  After several playthroughs, I still haven't spared Loghain simply because she wants me to.  I would spare him if I could only kill her instead.

Oh, and that story-telling weenie in the Dalish camp (when playing a non-elf).  Between him and Zathrian, I'm starting to understand why the humans tried to exterminate them.

I hate Sten the most.

The villain I hate the most is definitely Arl Rendon Howe, swiftly followed by Loghain and Kolgrim.

Don't really hate (I've only hated one person in real life to an extreme) any of the companion characters. But if I were to rate the companion characters on that I dislike (or at the least found more annoying).

1. Wynne - know it all mage, who likes thinking her **** doesn't smell, while preaching everyone else on their faults (spoilers:................hated that she was a cameo in my awakening play through)

2. Oghren (Awakening) - part of this is Biowares fault for not fixing their bugs, but he still was acting like a douchebag, couldn't understand why he was still hung up on his lesbian ex-wife, specially since he cheated on her. And his banter with Sigrun made me cringe many times.

3. Loghain - Haven't had him in my party yet, think he had more common sense than the King, though his methods were a bit too extreme....though some of that could be blamed on Arl Howe

4. Sigrun - Slightly hyperactive (closet to the Geki girl in JRPG's), didn't find her to annoying but I'm putting her here because Bioware again flubbed up with her personal quest and 100% instant approval bug.

5. Justice - Again the 100% approval bug strikes so I didn't get to really know him that well, and I was hoping from the trailers he would be more interesting....kinda felt a bit let down on that.

6. Mahari - We hardly knew this noble redshirt.....was hoping to see more of her (in fact I think I'd have rather seen Oghren die then this lady)

7. Velanna - yet another human hating elf who is also or was the keeper of a dalish clan. Though I enjoyed hearing her banter with Nathanial.

8. Anders - a bit whiny but less so than his origins cousin Jowan.

9. Oghren (Origins) - Sure he's a crass drunk, but I love seeing him try to hit on the ladies to only screw up so badly (not counting Felsi). That and his banter was pretty funny (well in Origins anyway it got a bit stale and more vile in Awakenings)

10. Leliana - Sweet and charming, but dang can she talk and talk and talk and talk and mostly about religious prattle.

Now my top 5 characters of Dragon Age (companions anyhow)

1. Nathanial - was very surprised on how much I liked this character, specially going in wanting to hate him. He was noble, but saw things in the grey i.e. wasn't a typical goody goody. I hope to see more of him in Dragon Age 2 (if the sequel takes place around the same time).

2. Morrigan - found her to be more complex and less shallow than others have said. Sure she took the darker path, but growing up with a mother who made love to men and killed them and played games with templars using you as bait I can see why she looked at life the way she did.

3. Sten - his background is interesting and I'm hoping to see more of him in Dragon Age 2 or at the very least see more of the Quanaire cities/lands.

4. Alastair - a bit of a dope, but endearing though he can be a dick if you decide to save Loghain.

5. Shale - I loved HK-47 from KoToR so yeah this filled in that gap quite nicely.

Wynne. No questions asked. All so high and mighty, and then she seeks to put me in the poor house by getting drunk on my lyrium potions. I set the tactic to drink at 10 %, and she chugs down a potent one as I kill the last darkspawn...

I have to say, for Non companion NPC's it has to be between Isolde and Anora for me. Anora, when she gives her speech just before we charge into Denerim, sounds like rusty nails on a black board for me. I can put up with Isolde's Orlesian accent, but she just acts like a dumb blonde. ("Oh, ill hire an apostate to teach my son magic so he doesn't have to go away! I really thought that out!")

A tie between the desire Demon in Connor's dream and Caladrius. They tricked me into thinking that if I murdered all those people they would increase my power substantially, but instead they only raised my powers by a token amount. Seriously, he killed like ten people and raised my constitution by 1.

I don't hate her, but I think Isolde needs a good, solid b*tch-slap. Preferably with a gauntlet. As an Arlessa, she has a responsibility towards those she rules over, but instead, she got selfish and decided that she didn't have to follow the rules. Then, when the sh*t hit the fan, she immediately takes the fastest way out that doesn't involve actually owning up to her mistakes: giving her life in a forbidden Blood Magic ritual. The fact that it's a Blood Magic ritual should have turned her off of it in the first place, but it's okay because it's "for her son". By that logic, a person could walk into a shop, murder everyone in sight, and get off because they snagged a loaf of bread for their kids on the way out. Stupid woman.

Personally, I didn't go for the Blood Magic ritual. But you are right that she was quite happy with it. A nice, quick and easy way out... Not for her! Just like Loghain, but I let him have his. He at least had some reasoning behind what he did, while Isolde was more concerned with her self image.

Isolde, obviously. You can't even really use the excuse "she did it for Connor," no she sought out an apostate because having a mage son was embarassing to her. Of course, the fact that so many people hate her probably means Bioware was successful with her character.

Arl Howe, especially for a Human Noble. But even for a regular warden, he's the one who hires a Crow to kill you, sets up the bounties on Warden sympathizers, and is totally unrepentant. If I recall, his dying words were something about "deserving more." Granted, I really ought to expect that sort of thing in a character voiced by Tim Curry.

Morrigan. I don't really mind her character concept, but she takes survival of the fittest too far. Even the strong need allies, and those mages she holds in such disdain are the strongest we'll find. I just really can't take her anywhere.

Oghren. I was so glad to get rid of him after the Deep Roads, even if I can't explain why I hated him so much. Well, the 2-handed berserker thing didn't help his case.

Cailan. I don't hate him, exactly, but I spent the entire game cleaning up his mess. Loghain may have withdrawn from a hopeless battle (and used the Grey Warden trap as an excuse he felt no one could disprove), but it's because Cailan insisted on fighting it anyways. More than any one else, I hold Cailan responsible for the disaster of Ostigar. And in my only playthrough that's gotten to the Landsmeet so far, Loghain died for his crimes.

EDIT: On Isolde though, I just realized something. She's supposedly really religious, and that's why she would be embarassed that her son was a mage. But if so, wouldn't seeking out an apostate, someone who is *not* bound by the Chant of Light and possibly violates it openly like Jowen did to teach her son even worse?  Something doesn't add up there.

Alistair for sure, he's just so annoying with his whining, reminded me of Carth from KOTOR way too much.

Isolde too, such a stuck up b*tch only concerned with herself and her image, I even killed Connor a few times just because it was too quick to kill her.

Can't remember her name, but she's the keeper's second in the Dalish camp, another annoying, stuck up little b*tch, it's so fun killing her with the werewolves.

To answer. It wasn't embarassment that made Isolde hire Jowan. If it was found out Connor was a mage, he would lose all titles and be taken to the Circle of Magi. Isolde didn't want to lose her son.

That said, I've actually killed Connor a couple times just for the pleasure of slapping that selfish b*tch
