I think Sten is a very good character and he is even more funney than Alistair in my opinion also I like the fact that he gets a huge strength boost when you get his approval up.
Hardly anyone appreciates Sten

I quiet like him myself I always use him for tuffer battles but you can loose him quiet easily if you do side quests

Actually depending on what you do he approvas eg giving money to the brother and sister in redcliffe.

I admit I didn't do much with Sten on my first two playthroughs, but he's been absolutely central to my third. He got concepts like duty/identity across to my DCF and really challenged her to decide if she was going to be a no-account brand or a Grey Warden.

Sten is a pretty great character. I consider being called "Kadan" one of the greatest achievements of all my characters that have managed it.

Why, I like him. You should listen to his dialogues with Morrigan where she tries to seduce him and finally he suggests that he'll lay with her, but she'll need a chainmail, a helmet and something to bite to endure the pain.
