Can the toolset beta forum be made public once the toolset is released?

I think they would rather make us believe it was perfect and bugless right from the start

Not sure if you're sarcastic with this one or not, but in any case there are most likely many answers to questions on how to do things in the toolset in that forum, not only bug reports.Shadow180 wrote...

Any meaningful information will make it way to the wiki in some form or another.

I agree. But more important, all of the beta's will b free 2 talk or chat about what they learned, once the game is released and NDA passes. So, we will gain the benefit of their expertise, without the forum b.s. etc.Sunjammer wrote...

I still find it hard to believe that absolutely every piece of useful information in there will be cramped into the wiki by november 3rd. So I don't really see any harm in for instance locking the beta forum and putting it in some archive which everyone could browse and view after release.
This would be very useful considering the toolset wiki most likely won't contain tutorials and documentation on all aspects early on but evolve over time. Browsing that forum could give us new ideas and learn things we wouldn't think of by browsing the wiki, so both would be great assets for us builders in my opinion.![=]](https://lvlt.forum.bioware.com/public/style_emoticons/default/sideways.png)
Is there any reason a beta participant would object to this or...? I can't think of any at least.
I guess I'll just have to trust Sunjammer, he's one of the major players in this afterall.

I can't see any objection to making the archive public, but of course it's up to Bioware.

I personally think getting this forum made into an archive of sorts have the possibility of being very helpful, as Cromalic says. I can imagine there will be a lot of questions answered there that people might have very early on about the toolset.

Beta Testers need to be able to give honest feedback and to do this they must be confident that what they say in private will remain private. It is hard enough to admit you're a born-again n00b and document all your embarrassing missteps, mistakes and frustrations in front of a couple dozen of your peers but to have that exposed to the whole world?Cromalic wrote...

I can understand why the less active or more experienced members of the Toolset Beta might have no objections. However I think it would be unfair on the others who were prepared to step out of their comfort zone; to try something new and to fall flat on their face (repeatedly) in an attempt to maximise the opportunity.
There simply isn't the goldmine of information that you think there is. Anything that was considered useful has or will be migrated to the wiki or has resulted in Bryan uploading some internal documents to the wiki. I think I'm the only one who has used the private forums to prepare the odd article but these too will be getting migrated to the wiki once I've had an opportunity to fill in the gaps and test my assumptions.Xuaa wrote...

I think you guys simply have to trust us to provide whatever information or knowledge we have either via wiki or in response to your questions in this forum.

Given that a lot of the stuff in there is about issues that have been resolved, bugs that are fixed and features that have been changed or removed, I think it would just be confusing.
Also, there's a big pile of tangental stuff to wade through and lots of going off topic.

Yup, it would have to be filtered/cleaned up and there would be a LOT of confusing jibber jabber in there (ie many of my posts). The people in that forum have been pretty forthright with information as it is. We are not trying to be overly secretive here or anything believe me but it really would not be super helpful in the state that it is in.
