Well, it's my experience that when things go the second page, they don't come back. What is more concerning to me is that I think there will come a point, assuming this situation stays as it is, that there simply will not be class/build threads anymore.



I just want them to create a subforum so that that does not happen, because irregardless of whether the character support threads belong here or not, Bioware should be concerned that the people here to discuss class/build strategies are having their topics lose traction before they even begin.



That will cause some people to just leave, and that shouldn't be ignored. Only time will tell. Give them the feedback where they've asked it to go and maybe we'll get a solution that keeps everyone happy.

I never really cared where the fan threads were located, so I'm okay with the move. But I understand the viewpoint of those who dislike it and agree that a subforum would be the best choice. However, given my link above, someone will complain about that too.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I can almost assure you that someone is going to still complain about character threads even if they are in their own sub-forum.

Out of sight, out of mind. The people complaining about the character support threads now aren't necessarily the same people who were complaining bout the threads when they were on the other forum. Like I said when the moderators first moved the threads, all they did was move the problem because they didn't consider that the people who post in what was predominantly a strategy forum would equally not like to have to deal with character support threads as the posters on the other forum.

Now, if they move the character support threads to their own forum, everyone who had a bad opinion about those threads before will probably continue having a bad opinion of them even when they're on their own dedicated forum. Jokes will still be made about the fanaticism of people who post in those threads. Just as jokes are made about people who want nothing more than a shooter game. It's generalizing, it doesn't apply to everyone, but people do it. I do it. You do it. However, if you have a (sub)forum whose entire reason for being is to provide a place for the character support threads, those who go out of their way to go to that forum to complain about them doesn't have much leg to stand on.

Love that theres no reason to go here anymore. There has been literally nothing but character threads multiple times I've looked lately, and that's pretty ridiculous.  I'm pretty sure the extra threads for random npcs are just to troll the people who hated the move, and its awesome to see thats who gets the forum.

Its sad that I have to go elsewhere, but hopefully the steam forums aren't filled with this crap.

This was my favorite ME2 forum, good on strategy. But the amount of noise those character support threads make marks the end of this forum being productive for that.

I just spent about 10 minutes trying to put more than one non- character fan thread in the first pages by posting in as many "old" strategy threads as I could find. My own little Gandhi- type protest. It's tough to keep ahead of the flood...

This sub forum used to be my favorite forum. It's where I got playtips when I most needed it. Since these character support threads came in, this sub forum died.

Ohmigod, they went, like, a whole hour without a post. That's it, that character doesn't have a dedicated enough fanbase for her to be in ME3.

Who do we complain to? I left a message for Stanley Woo to let him know that this was a bad idea, but who should we really complain to? I've played the game about 10 times thru and am about 1/2 way thru my first insanity run - the tips here have been great - helped me thru the most difficult parts.

ETA: Oh, and there's this thread which is supposedly in the correct forum for us to be talking about such things.

We may just have to start talking ME2 strategy in the other ME2 forum, the Quests and Storylines one.  I know that by name it doesn't seem to fit, but most of the old ME1 strategizers have decided to stay in the now ME1 Quests and Storylines forum just to avoid all the character threads here.  Idk... its like trying to avoid a swarm of locusts

It's a malleable unpleasable fanbase. There's a whole group of posters in the Mass Effect 2 Official Campaign and Storyline forum who are now quite pleased because they got the forum maintainers to move the problem. Now a whole other group of posters can be displeased.

And if they ever figure out how to do actual subforums, we can have a new group of posters who are displeased with the different layout. But I'll be pleased then.
