Dragon Age Podcast - Fanfiction Round Table.

Dragon Age inspires a huge number of players and fans to write, draw, paint, even sew about Thedas, the story and their favourite characters.  We would like to cover more about this part of the Dragon Age community in future episodes of the podcast.

To get the ball rolling, we're hosting a round table discussion about writing Dragon Age fanfiction.  We'd like to talk to authors about why they write fanfic in the first place, what makes Dragon Age such a good source of material, about the attitude towards fanfiction in general etc.

If you write Dragon Age fanfiction and would like to take part, please write to us at letters@dragonagepodcast.com.  The closing date will be Friday 4 June 2010.  Please come and join us, we'd love to hear what you have to say!

Another excellent episode, and a really nice interview. Great work, all!

As for the Dragon Age Prima Guide, I got the paper collector's edition, and I'd say it's pretty good. It could do with extra information on the side quests, and some of the build tips probably aren't fantastic, but there is pretty decent coverage of the main quest. I have to confess that I was a sucker for the lore (some of which is in the codex), background info and the art in it.

Looking forward to hearing the fan fiction roundtable!

Thanks for the info on the paper Prima Guide Amstrad. It's likely that the Steam guide uses the same text, but without a direct comparison there's no way to know. Still, if anyone has access to the Origins and Awakening Guides on Steam, I'd love to know your thoughts on them.

A big thankyou, guys n' gals, for Episode 7. Immensely entertaining as usual and a great way to spend a Friday night. Great chemistry between the hosts makes it a joy to listen to. My only problem with it was that all the talk about various other games made me realise just how many good ones I'd missed out on somehow over the last few years. Boy, have I got some catching up to do! Nevertheless, thanks again, and I look forward, as usual, to the next enthralling episode. Cheers.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. hed777, I think we all feel that way. There are so many games I would love to play, but time and finances are both such limiting factors in life.

Too right! It's just that, for someone who used to buy all the gaming mags, I seem to have missed a few "iconic" games. And now I'm running Vista 64-bit it's a bit late for most of them. I knew I should have hung on to my old XP machine and repaired it instead of flogging it off cheap. Ho hum.

Now now, let's not forget that Matt came back in his airship and edited the whole monstrous mangle that was the original recording, so it was actually the work of four; or, if you realise that editing is one of the most thankless and hard jobs about the podcast, it is the work of THE CHOSEN ONE.   ;P

Gadzooks you infidel!  You haven't played Mass Effect 2?  How could you betray Commander Shepard so?!  Get to it, trooper!  On the double!

You have to pick and choose which games you play. I'm just glad we have enough quality games out there that I don't have time to play them.

@mikemike37 You only have two games you haven't started? I'm jealous. My pile of shame used to be big, then there were all those steam sales. Now it's impossible I'll ever play all these games.

*looks at his own pile of shame*

Sigh. Life is too short. :(

But, I'd rather have more good games than I could ever play than not enough.

im still waiting on a last.fm-style "game scrobbling" and comparing with other gamers' heavily-played games with matching profiles to calculate what other games i should be playing hehe.

EDIT: ah i hope this isnt off-topic and get the thread moved hehe.

Vae luvvie, don't think you should say 'pile of shame' with reference to your stack of unplayed games. Sounds decidedly cat-boxy. ;)

We recorded the interview for next week's episode tonight. It should be a good one. I'll do the editing tomorrow, but the interview itself went very well.
