I'm sorry to inform you that for the first time ever, the Dragon Age Podcast will not be released on Friday as scheduled. I just finished the editing, and due to technical difficulties all my work, the last 12 hours of my life, is gone as if it never happened.
I will start over and get Episode 9 out as soon as I can, but right now I'm exhausted. It may be two or three days before I can get the Episode up. I sincerely apologize for the delay, and wish I could promise a time when it will be available, but I cannot. I thank you all for your patience.
Regards,
David R. Lambert

I get my copies of the podcast from a grubby little apothecary shop on the road to Orlais so I best get my boots on; there's gotta be an easier way!
More power to you, Vae, for all your efforts above and beyond the call of duty, to get Episode 9 completed. You. ser, are a true star. And the podcast is the nug's b******s!
I'm off now to spend my afternoon being entertained and educated in a DA-stylee yet again. Cheers to you and all of the team.

Whoooooooooo! More podcast awesomeness!
And so I hear from the guest himself, he was pretty special =) You plan on doing that more often?
As always, awesome and whatever.
And of course, a special thanks must go to Vae for editing the thing twice? That's dedication

Thanks for the comments guys. We always appreciate the feedback. And welcome to Anima03. I'm glad to see more and more new listeners following the show. You may want to listen to the latest episode to be more up to date before getting caught up, but I understand. I listen to a lot of podcasts myself and I often listen to the back catalog in order to get caught up myself. Anyway, thanks for listening everybody!

Really exciting that we've been stickied! Thanks so much for your support everyone, and hope you enjoy Episode 9: Storm of the Century.
I'm sending a big hug and a hearty pat on the back to Vae, for his all his hard work. I'm really going to have to learn how to do this editing lark, not least because then, I will be mistress of THEIR voices, and I can make THEM sound silly *mutters things about iPads*.
Best wishes m'dears - Tara.

Great show once again. And a sticky to boot. I've been meaning to try all spell combos so I really enjoyed this episode. Almost forgot to add that mikemike did an outstanding job as a guest host.

I don't mind criticism, but you could at least make it constructive. I have no idea why you don't like it, but since you no longer listen, I guess it doesn't matter. Sorry to see you go.

Great episode. I really liked the detailed discussion about all of the spell combinations. I've been using Shatter and am about to try out Grease Fire (with caution!!!). Will definitely try out some of the others now.
Keep up the good work!

Hey, only just started listening to the podcast - great work! Looking forward to tuning in, as it were, to future installments! PS: I *think* (can't confirm at present) that casting Shockwave (Crushing Prison + Force Field) *does* in fact negate the effects of both. I will have to drag out my Spirit Mage and find out...

Posté 01 juillet 2010 - 02:31
ah thanks, guess its best to open with crushing prison, allow the damage ticks and benefit from the stun, and then apply shock wave near the end of its duration...?

Have spent the last 2 days off work with an iffy knee and have had the chance to listen to all the episodes. Most impressed.
I note since Tara joined, 4 of the 5 shows have been tagged as explicit. Tara, disappointed you couldn't make it 5 from 5 (Winky face) Us Brits need to make our mark.

@Eudaemonium - thank you for clarifying that. It would be really good if you could vindicate my choice of Shatter method too. Does throwing a ConeofCold and a Crushing Prison allow a chance per turn of a Shatter? It would be good if I could blow a raspberry to Mr Bossy (mikemike37) about it.
@ Aratark - Yes, I'm ever so sorry about that, and I will try harder. I'm not sure what the criteria for an 'explicit' tag is, however. I also want to make the point that it *may* be coincidence, but that doesn't sound likely does it.
Hope your knee gets better soon!
Thanks to both of you - and to everyone - for your kind words. Really glad you are enjoying the show!

Only just heard the latest episode, but it's as entertaining as always. The spell combo section was interesting and it taught me some new things I need to try out. Congrats as usual on another cracking podcast!

I could be wrong but I think you guys forgot to mention the "Improved Hex" combo, which I don't blame you for since it's not on the wiki for whatever reason. Basically, any Hex cast on an enemy under the effects of Curse of Mortality will last twice as long. (This is useful with Misdirection Hex, or even Disorient)
Love the podcast, keep up the great work.

Great Podcast and I really enjoyed the section on Spell Combos. I only found 3 in both my playthroughs of DAO (Shatter - which is so useful I use it in almost every fight -, Grease Fire and Improved Drain Life) and it was a really good summing up. I'll have to boot up DAO (which was the second gaming related bit of software I installed after my reformat) now and try them out, especially Storm of the Century. Awesome.
Oh yeah and I doubt this is likely but you should try and get Mike on as a regular, a felt like the 4 of you had a good symmetry going.
:innocent:

@uberdowzen - the Spell Combos are really fun, but you do have to make a bit of an effort to achieve some of them - not a bad thing though. And do let me know what Storm of the Century looks like. I hope it's as exciting as its icon. [this last, as an Elcor would say, *with heavy sarcasm*]
I meant to say much earlier, that DLAN_Immortality has just released v1 of her Ser Gilmore mod. We interviewed Immort about the mod in Episode 7: Matt Swap. It adds Ser Gilmore as a playable NPC. It’s an incredibly deep story and is FULLY VO'd! You meet Ser Gilmore in Lothering, so what a fantastic reason for a completely new playthrough of the game. Congrats Immort!
[Edit - argh apologies for the formatting shame.]
