You get only half XP for Mako kills. However, killing with the Mako tends to be faster, thereby you can use the saved time to kill other things and get XP.
Well I just hit level 55 and I've yet to start Virmiere. I don't think you can level up to 60 in one playthrough though.

Anything beats dragging the cursor around over a round ball over and over. I guess this was the punishment to people griping about the Mako.
As a Soldier, I don't have to worry about that. Only talent I used was Immunity, and it was mapped.

I had plenty of skills but that those controls were an abomination! I think the hammerhead controls much better. if only it wasn't made of paper.Mr. California wrote...
Yea no doubt the mako's plot missions were fun not so much for the people still trying to get the hang of the mako but for those that had some skillz they were awsome

The damn thing sucks, Shepard should switch it with the vehicle that got him out of hell in the first game.

And that is why I loved Mako so much in ME1, it was so realistic, in sci-fi way. The Mako was easy to handle on PC, not so good with 360. So the only problems was bad handling on console and the dull, plain terra-generated sidequest maps. So the total scrapping of Mako in ME2 was a sad thing.
Okay, they gave us this Hammerhead thing. Which is like a insult when compared to Mako. I mean the Mako was like a real military vehicle as one could be. But the Hammerhead looked like a toy, and performed like one. It was made out of paper, didn't have shields, or atleast it wasn't displayed anyway. The only thing to notice the HH was gonna blow was little red light flashing and beeping sound, which usually was drowned in the sound of battle (firing rockets without aiming). And then, the onboard VI made me feel like I was 5 years old and needed to be told everything I did. Not to mention the combat was so dull with HH. I couldn't even see what I was shooting at, because there weren't no aiming or zooming with it. I could only see from the top of the screen the enemys health bar and how it was slowly reduced by auto-aiming missiles.
And seriously, one of the HH-missions was a stupid checkpoint-race.
