I think the MAKO was good, it's levels weren't. The plot related MAKO parts were it's best parts, the rest took too long and the rewards were too slim. I hope the Overlord DLC for Mass Effect 2 will bring back some of that Feros or Ilos like vehicle parts.

You get only half XP for Mako kills. However, killing with the Mako tends to be faster, thereby you can use the saved time to kill other things and get XP.

Well I just hit level 55 and I've yet to start Virmiere. I don't think you can level up to 60 in one playthrough though.

I'll be honest: I LOVED the Mako! Not so much the random planet exploration, but the "plot" missions made me see that vehicle like a 7th party member. The snowy fields of Noveria, the beaches of Virmire and the heroic drive thru the conduit were all awesomely made IMO ^_^

*sheds a tear of joy*

Anything beats dragging the cursor around over a round ball over and over. I guess this was the punishment to people griping about the Mako.

Yea no doubt the mako's plot missions were fun not so much for the people still trying to get the hang of the mako but for those that had some skillz they were awsome

As a Soldier, I don't have to worry about that. Only talent I used was Immunity, and it was mapped.

I liked the Mako. It was maybe used in too many missions, but did provide variety to gameplay.

Oh for sure the mako was a little over used in ME1 but still it was an awsome game play aspect

I had plenty of skills but that those controls were an abomination! I think the hammerhead controls much better. if only it wasn't made of paper.:?

I loved the Mako, on a few of the Uncharted World Missions where hell due to the terrian. If The devs made hills that actually true hills not sharp terrian spikes and avoided massive mountains it would have been better. As for the Hammerhead the missions where kind of cheap. I honestly though that if the Geth actually had cover to hide behind and could spot the flying cardboard box hovering 500 meters away Shepard would likely have been toast. The homing missile tracking sucked, the weak damage low spash damage if there was any at all didn't make it any better. As I said if the geth had cover the Hammerhead would fail as it had no abilty to hit targets out of cover. The Mako on the other hand could either smash cover with its main gun or spash the enemy behind it. If the enemy got a little close or you wanted to weaken the shields a little bit before firing the main gun the Machine gun did a decent job. If the devs wanted missions like the ones they put forward it would have been better to give the player a gunship like the ones you fight though the main part of the game. At Least this way they would used what already was there just new paint job and a couple other features and bame perfect weapon for the Normandy 2.

loved the Mako, hated getting stuck. There's also the problem that if the Mako is on terrain at a certain angle the guns aim would be off and the camera angle would suck.

Yea If the mako was at an angle the aim would be off it buged me too and if an enemy was with in like 10 feet of you the guns would shoot right past them

If the Mako has overtoned firepower and other new toys, better handling and speed, and as much free ridin like the hammerhead, I want it brought to ME2/3.

I doubt they'll bring back the mako but if they incorpirate some of the mako's aspects into the hammer head then it should be fine

If they're gonna keep one of the vehicles, better the Mako.

I agree with you 100% but it would make no sence to destroy the mako in ME1 replace it with the Hammerhead in ME2 then replace a perfectly working hammerhead with a Mako in ME3. Im sure that BW could make a good back story why it happend but it just wouldnt make sence ,to me anyway.

Perfectly working?

The damn thing sucks, Shepard should switch it with the vehicle that got him out of hell in the first game.

I didnt meen it like that from the gameplayaspect of it but in the fiction of the game the hammerhead is supose to be more advanced than the mako ,so why downgrade.

It's because how it would be in real life too.

And that is why I loved Mako so much in ME1, it was so realistic, in sci-fi way. The Mako was easy to handle on PC, not so good with 360. So the only problems was bad handling on console and the dull, plain terra-generated sidequest maps. So the total scrapping of Mako in ME2 was a sad thing.

Okay, they gave us this Hammerhead thing. Which is like a insult when compared to Mako. I mean the Mako was like a real military vehicle as one could be. But the Hammerhead looked like a toy, and performed like one. It was made out of paper, didn't have shields, or atleast it wasn't displayed anyway. The only thing to notice the HH was gonna blow was little red light flashing and beeping sound, which usually was drowned in the sound of battle (firing rockets without aiming). And then, the onboard VI made me feel like I was 5 years old and needed to be told everything I did. Not to mention the combat was so dull with HH. I couldn't even see what I was shooting at, because there weren't no aiming or zooming with it. I could only see from the top of the screen the enemys health bar and how it was slowly reduced by auto-aiming missiles.

And seriously, one of the HH-missions was a stupid checkpoint-race.

The Mako got wrecked yes, but nothing a good mechanic couldn't fix, or just get a replacement for. Heck the Mako on the DLC SR-1 Crash site looks like it could be dug out and put to use right away.
