Why do people keep picking between the Geth and the Quarians? The Quarians are not a single entity; they have different factions forming, different ideas and desires.

The real question is do you side with the peace seeking Quarians who want to live with the Geth, or the Quarians who wish to brainwash the Geth into slaves...

OK, to all those that said you would side with the Geth, and say the Geth are indeed as alive as organics. Let me ask you guys a simple question. Did you choose to kill the Geth during Legion's mission, or did you rewrite their programing?

Because if you chose to rewrite them, you guys are being hypocrites. If the Geth are alive, and have free will, then morality wise you had no right to rewrite them? That would be in the same since as brainwashing a human. You pretty much took away the heretics  ability of "Choice." You can't just decide to change the way people think, because you don't agree with it.

I'm only a hypocrite if I wouldn't do the same thing to organics if I could.

But more importantly, Legion itself said that you should not apply your own morals to other races like that. I forget the details.

I rewrot the Heretics because coexistance was impossible. Rewriting is basicaly reforming them into fuctioning members of society. Its like a prison term, only quicker.

Initially, I would side with the Geth because they're awesome, but when I thought about it logically, the Quarians have it rough living on a dirty ship, in a suit, when the slightest contact on their skin can be fatal.

My canon shep will side Quarian, but my badass infiltrator is definitely lending a hand to Legion and the Geth.

You just posted that like 8 posts ago.

Would you join the peace seeking Quarians or the Quarians seeking to enslave the Geth? The Quarians are not a single faction. You cant just side will all Quarians.

If the quarians decide to go to war with the geth in order to reclaim thier homeworld in ME3, there is a chance you'll have to pick a side. Click on the link below and vote for who you would like to side with if this were to occur.

This thread seems to be an obvious trap set for Shandepared, so I must ask the OP, what do you plan to do with him once you have captured him?

In my opinion no matter if there is a diplomatic solution I pick the Quarrians.

For a Starters you can't trust the Geth there machines and can be reprogrammed at anytime. They are also a major threat to all organic cultures and Sheperd would be justified in allying with the Quarians in the same way that US allied with Israel and gave them a new homeland.

Also Tali is cute you can't hurt her people!

Organics can be reprogrammed at any time too. Look what happened in the first game.

Whether the geth are machines or not is irrelevant, because both the geth and the quarians are sentient. Geth cannot be reprogrammed at anytime, that is not how it works, the virus optionally used on the heretics was an advanced reaper creation. The reapers can also indoctrinate (reprogram) organics, it just takes longer. Your logic is flawed and biased.

I also wouldn't let my interest in Tali prevent me from doing the right thing, my Shepard wouldn't be able to look at himself in a mirror anymore if he did.

You don't seem to be taking the question seriously anyways.

Quarians, they've been apart of the Citadel constituency for too long. Until the Geth demonstrate restraint I couldn't choose them

The geth never venturing beyond the veil until they created Legion is not demonstrating restraint? And the Council basically told the quarians they weren't welcome anymore when they closed their embassy.

The question was IF the quarians go to war. And if I did that question, the poll results would be almost COMPLETELY one-sided. I mean really, once you meet and get to know Legion, why would you want to brainwash the Geth into slaves again? Especially after hearing the little recording of the first geth to ask if he had a soul in one of the conversations you have with him.

I don't really see it as brainwashing, more like giving them a chance to go back to their people and making up for what they've done.

It's easy to settle disputes when, instead of using reasoning, you can just reprogram the opposing side to think what you want them to.

Make up for what they've done? You mean fighting for the right to continue existing.

What a pretty shroud you've pulled over your head.

Don't make us paragon interrupt your ass! (loved that interrupt :P)

I hate to say it, but if forced I would have to side with the quarians - though it would cause me great pain and I'd absolutely hate it.

The fact is, the quarians have more to lose, and the sanctity of their life is more precious. Geth can lose millions of platforms and it would mean nothing - each quarian life lost can never be gotten back.

If Admiral Morrigan's virus shenanigans come together in time for ME3, I'll be strongly tempted to take that option. Guarantees me two armies, one of which will be indebted to Shep and the other...let's just say they won't be changing their minds on anything any time soon.

Cruel? Maybe, depending on how you view robots, but when the galaxy's at stake I really don't care.

Justified or not, that doesn't convince me that the geth are underdogs. Still siding with quarians.

Lemme guess, Talimancer Scum?

Even if you aren't, you're still siding with a bunch of tiny Hitlers with goofy accents and buckets on their heads.
