If your television came to life, killed your family and then forced you out of the house, I'd think you'd have a right to try and take your house back.
Not fair since the Quarians took the first shot. It would be more understandable if the Quarians indeed thought the Geth were just runaway appliances when they tried to kill them, but pretty much every Quarian you talk to says to the effect of, "Yep we knew they became sentient and we had to get rid of them."
Frankly given the fact that their creators attempted to exterminate them the moment they gained sentience, I'm surprised the Geth are so well-adjusted.
Total Agreement. Any Arguement for the quarians seems to miss the fact that A) the qurians started this mess and

they continue the mess by trying numerous times to take back their homeworld and colonies.
Though in retro-spect, the quarians do provide something against the geth then their dinky little fleet - an very large population that can make your ship run faster, and operate better than any other race. Quarians will be handy against the reapers, and so will the geth.
To your well-adjusted statement, Probably because they see it as correcting an mistake. *shrugs* Personally, If I was an quarian, I would have tried negorating peace long after the conflict had ended, in an attempt to gain the homeworld back. Just flat out admit to the geth that we made an mistake, and we like to rectify it.
I would think the story would be truely different if the Quarians and the Geth had gotten along, as they pretty much cover each other's weaknesses etc etc. The geth would act alot like shock troops, guards, helpers etc. The quarians would have benefited alot from them, which I am assuming they did before the quarians attempted to shut them down. Heck, given military weapons and combined with the quarian military, they make an very deadly duo as races alone.
