Love the drama about this, do you guys lack free will? Will the game force you to play Co-op or Multiplayer and what is stopping you from just playing the singelplayer part? instead you go "HURR DURR DEM GAIS @ BIOWARE RUIN DE GAEM WIT COOP AND MP, I WILL NOT BUY THIS GAME DURR HURR."
Wtb a ME3 with Singelplayer, Co-op and a multiplayer part
Do you lack free will? Why dont you go play one of the dozens of other games that offer multiplayer? Why must every single game waste time, money, and resources making sure to tack on a stupid multiplayer so idiots can frag eachother or AI enemies?

It would be fun if it was co op.. but there is a alot of talking so that might be a problem for players who aren't true fans
Ah yes, "True Fans". Lots of people are falling into this trope as of late.
Thankfully Overlord DLC will be here soon and people will go play it and stop the b*tching, if only for a little while...

I don't think that is most peoples' issue with a MP or CO-OP element. Many people (myself included) think that time spent on e=developing MP would take away resources and energy in making a Strong SP campaign with a high replay value. Rightfully so. Looking at the current state of many popular games, many of them forgo even attempting to make their SP game with a high replay value and focus all of their attention in MP replayability.CoreMagus wrote...

The franchise started to become a mainstream sell out, now the transformation becomes complete.
Looking at the progress, Dragon Age 2 will probably also be a coop Hack&Slay.
Bye BioWare, welcome EAware.

Whatever Bioware's decision is on multiplayer i'm sure they'll still make a great solid story for Mass Effect 3.

I think you are all underestimating how easy it is to slap on multiplayer to a game.
And most fail to admit...with a certain amount of time and resources, something has to give.
If you divide the effort into doing coop or multiplayer the story and overall single player will pay in quality

And it certain that Bioware will blow it all on a game that is still early in development. Let's not forget that it is Bioware we are talking about here.Dinkamus_Littlelog wrote...

Right now I've only cared to play both ME1 and 2 more than once to completion. Most other games that I have beaten are gathering dust. (they are fun and at best have a decent replay value to me but time constricts me) Plus generally MP doesn't really interest me. Only GTA 4 kept my interest for any length of time. To me MP isn't really living up to it's potential so I don't really care for it.

And a MP mode such as Team deathmatch is so very difficult so very hard to implement, They allready have their selection of classes, their upsides and downsides. And who says they can not borrow ideas from other games to use in the MP?Vena_86 wrote...
MP will hurt SP one way or the other. Either by taking away development time or changing the game design to make MP possible, resulting in worse than possible storytelling and depth.

And that they will, i have no doupt that Bioware will put the most effort into the singelplayer mode and then their MP and Co-op spinoffs.TheShogunOfHarlem wrote...
There are some exceptions, but they are hardly the rule. MGS4 is one along with GTA 4, but I can't think of any others. I don't know what BW's plan would be if implemented. The best case scenario is they place MP on a separate disc and release it sometime after ME3's release. Now I think they should focus on the SP heavily. See what worked in ME1 and 2 take into consideration some of the reasonable issues people had with ME2 and make the best damn replayable game they can.

If that's the case then I can care less if they do have a MP. That's their call. I would only ask that it not be a stupid run and gun session like most MP experiences are. (basically it shouldn't appeal to the lowest common denominator) I would prefer a tactical gameplay with vehicles, Large maps and environmental destructibility.CoreMagus wrote...

People are worried, not entirely without reason but also out of proportion I think, that developing multiplayer would take resources away from singleplayer. However, in my experience, good multiplayer =/= bad singleplayer. Sometimes a team is very good at one thing and not the other, but enough times in my experience it seems that one could can be good at both things.
Not to mention that EA, as of recent, has started using different teams to develop singleplayer and multiplayer in the games that have both (for instance, DICE will do the multiplayer - but not the singleplayer- for the new Medal of Honor).

Stop assuming people. Seriously. BioWare hasn't elaborated to any degree regarding this. Have some faith in the company that's delivered so many great games that I'm sure many of you have enjoyed over the years. Implicit faith? No. I'm just saying to wait until some real details surface.
Multiplayer can be done well without harming the SP component. Take a look at Bioshock 2. It certainly wasn't hurt by having MP. On the contrary, I feel it added something. They approached it properly (Separate team), something I'm sure BioWare will do. MP was an entirely separate entity, not tacked on, and not stealing resources from the SP.
I'm sure this post won't change anyone's mind, but whatever. My $.02.
