Sigh, humanity blows, and art is dead.
ME is a great experience because you "live" in the universe while playing it, with coop it will be: bam bam boom, go go go, stop at ship, quick hurry up, bam bam boom, go go go, hurry hurry hurry.
Immersion, story, role-playing will be dead.

I honestly don't see the big deal. If the whole multiplayer mode is introduced, then simply stick to single player if the story is great. Stop whining and complaining and wait to see if Bioware acts on this new 'fad'. In the scenario mentioned plenty of times by not just myself, but others, there's no reason to call it quits or have little temper tantrums.
This. (wholeheartedly)

Just kidding.
We all know for a fact this isn't going to be in ME3 (ME3 was confirmed to be single player). It'll probably be some spin off, sort of like what Ubisoft is doing with Assassin's Creed right now. I'm sure it'll be fine.
What I'm not too happy about is the recent movie rights that have been trademarked for Mass Effect...

That alone make me wonder.
The bit about:
“EA COO John Schappert also mentioned "something far-reaching coming from Mass Effect" in early 2011. Whatever the hell that means.”
I have to agree with the last line, “Whatever the hell that means.” it could be anything from an announcement about ME3 or a spin off title.
However we do know that EA Plans to add online features to all new games.
"In fiscal 2011, every one of EA's releases will have an online component, both downloadable content and online play."
Who’s to say that wont extend further than that timeframe?

ME2 was good, but it could have been made much richer in terms of depth and amount of content.
They should focus on that for ME3, not waste time making it multiplayer or even co-op.

If ME3 even so much as carries a mere whiff of MP then I will call it a day with Mass Effect even if that means I never get to finish the story.
I don't mind if they want to do a SEPARATE game set in the Mass Effect universe with MP but god no leave the Mass Effect series MP free please. I bought ME and ME 2 because they were excellent single player experiences and I do not want the third one to be anything but an excellent single player experience.
Still all I can do is vote with my wallet and I will certainly do that if you add MP into Mass Effect 3
wtf do u even care if they add a multiplayer element to the game? just dont use it ****.
its like saying CoD or halo ( talking about co-op multiplayer) is ****, the option for a single player campaign is there, and if bioware is going to add in a splitscreen campaign option, then good, it gives players the ability to play side by side in a game series that everybody has loved, if you dont like the option keep playing it solo, in terms of an actual multiplayer set up as in Player Vs Player, id have to say no, as the idea of having PVP in ME is just stupid as it isnt a PvP type of game
lulia makes a good point about how ME3 should have more depth etc and the idea stated above are my own, i'm not voting either way im just saying the if they add it, i won't give a shet eitherway.

As long as the single player story mode does not suffer for this, I'm fine with this. Really, people, what's the problem with multiplayer?
wow, with all these insults and rage flying i thought i was the only
one who couldn't give a rats ass about if it has multiplayer, i mean if
by MP they mean a co-op set up, than i think tis good, theres still
going to be a single player campaign reguardless of if it has co-op or
not, and it'd be sweet to play the game with friends as in side by side
and i see people here saying if ME3 has any MP at all in it then they won't buy it, to me they just seem liek total fark wits as we all know they'll still buy it and love the single player aspects, theyre just scared of anything that may be different to whats been.
ME3 will rock reguardless if it has a co-op MP or only a single player campaign, PVP is a no though as that would kill the game.

Furthermore, even if there is just a coop option, people will try it. Immersion, story and roleplaying are pretty much nonexistent when you play coop. Its all about shooting. It will effectively ruin the whole build up universe for everyone who even just tries it. And the more people get used coop shooting, the less appreciated a good ol' RPG will be.
Looking at Lost World 2 or FEAR3 there is ligitimate concern that a game, build for MP/coop in mind will suck as a singleplayer game. FEAR3 isnt out yet you say? But that you play coop with some sort of ghost and the trailers seem all about shooting says enough. What made FEAR great will be replaced by more shooting, less atmosphear and coop....that somehow rings a bell.
Starting with ME2 the Mass Effect franchise has lost its beauty and individuality. Now its a **** that is pushed around, used and sold to the highest bidder by pimp daddy EA.

so what you basically said is, that if theres a coop than its all about shooting, are u slow??
your saying if ME2 and the first 1 had a coop and was the exact same campaign just with the abiltiy to replace one party member that is played by a computer with the same party member that is played by an actual person that the game would be all about shooting?
as somebody previous posted why don't we all jsut stop worrying about what is likely to not happen?
wait until they release some ideas and info about what theyre going to be building into ME3 than worry, doing it now is just a waste of time.

Bottom line: Multiplayer doesn't all ways (in fact very rarely does) mean MMORPG. Co-op isn't the same thing, Plus ME isn't really an RPG at all. More of a hack and slash with a half decent story bolted onto it.

Mass Effect 3 won't be going Multiplayer or better put there is a very slim chance of that happening. The reason is Biowares current market for the series has been on a singleplayer focus. That'll be slapping you folks in the face.

Im guessing this is ganna be Co-Op. Not an MMO.

I disagree, look at the title, BW hasnt denied MP for ME3, if it wasnt in they would deny it and crush the rumors, instead they just ignore this thread, to me it seems they will have MP, otherwise they would have postedd something by now, why ignore the thread if they dont have MP for ME3 ? They could just say its not in, or its for another game, but thay havent, to me its just supporting MP is in ME3.Drag0n-RD wrote...
