Well If they did it in ME3 I would seriously question Bioware. What would be the point this current Trilogy is story based it would useless to do something like this.

The next game  set in the ME universe can have Multiplayer, this game is all about the single player

The thing is though, shoving multiplayer into games is a trend now with all devs as its an easy way to keep people involved and buying cheap and easy to make DLC map pack and stuff.

I won't be surprised in the least to see ME3 with MP- but I'll be pretty damn disappointed with BioWare.

I honestly don't see the need to wait just because it's a "trilogy". They are 3 seperate games. They can do whatever they want.

You want an ME mmo?

Wouldn't buy it but I'd rather it then them **** up ME3 and make it Gears Effect 3. Also it won't be one they're already making on no need to make two. It's ME3 and that makes me want to stab myself.

I don't think I could stomach another promising-single-player-RPG-franchise-gone-MMO after TOR.  I'm still pissed at BioWare for ****ting all over the cliffhanger ending of KotOR2 so that they could make a cashcow.

I agree with this.

They've said multiple times that they will not have multiplayer in Mass Effect. If they do, they're lying; it's as simple as that.

But the job posting doesn't necessarily mean multiplayer for Mass Effect. It merely states that their current project is Mass Effect. It's just a way of saying, "Come work for Bioware and make multiplayer stuff! We're the guys that made Mass Effect!"

That being said, I'm also very leery of this job posting because of the direction I've seen the franchise take. If there's multiplayer in ME3, then it'll subtract from the story and the 16+ loose ends of squadmates and former squadmates that they have to deal with.

You do realize BioWare didn't do KOTOR 2 don't you?

Yeah but instead of making TOR they could have just went with  single player KOTOR3 that wraps up Revan and the Exile's story.

exactly my point as well and what i said in my post earlier. Its obvious this really isnt for ME3, but a possibility  for future games of the mass effect universe.

Incorrect.

http://www.vgchartz.... Origins - X360[33505]&reg2=All&game2=Mass+Effect+2++-+X360[28815]&reg3=All&game3=&weeks=30

Dragon Age has been on the market a good 12 weeks more than Mass Effect 2, but Mass Effect 2 has sold over a hundred thousand more copies.  And Mass Effect 2 had a bigger release week than Dragon Age.

Anyone who says "Dragon Age outsold Mass Effect 2" either has not researched properly or is just posting their game bias.

Probably both.

Such a clever retort.

Huh? It sold 1.6 million in 2 months, Jan 26th to the end of March. Arguably the slowest time of the year for game sales.

"Dragon Age" came out close to 7 months ago in November, during the holidays. Right now both games sales figures are almost the same.

Dragon Age won't outsell ME2. Maybe due to a content one has that the other doesn't.

well... it was inevitable I guess. I just hope that it is co-op and not actual match making (that would use up a lot of the disc if it was.

Well, I'm glad at least someone on these boards can sense sarcasm.  It seems to be a rather rare ability.

Seriously, I'm going to be controversial here and say that having multiplayer itself wouldn't kill the series, it's just that if they made it a focus.

Then again, the Liara thread is calling this the death knell for the series because 'it'll kill ME3'. I just realized something, though... who says this is for ME3?

Most people complain that there were not enough RPG elements in ME2. Going the multiplayer route would remove RPG elements even more.

BOO!

Not necessarily. Recent FPS's work RPG elements into the multiplayer- so would a Mass Effect multiplayer.

I see Bioshock 2's sales have had an influence.
