A bunch of people have mentioned Quentin Tarantino but really what are his credentials when it comes to Sci-fi movies? He is more of an off-beat director when it comes to movie making his movies are usually over the top, which works for his unique take on genre films. If you watch any of his movies you will notice the off-beat world he sets them in with their over the top sarcastic conotations and imagery. He is a genre blending mofo, but a Genre bending mofo does not a good Sci-Fi director make. He has no past history with Sci-fi - his history revolves around his cult status which has been flailing as he has become more mainstream. I cannot see his style translating well with a Mass Effect movie that would honour the Game. You are entitled to you opinion and maybe you want Mass Effect to be More stylized with the Quentin flare as for me I do not.
