Hello,
I bought Mass Effect one yesterdy, and have been searching through the Steam forums to figure out why I cannot play it. I have tried all the fixes brought up in those forums, and none of them work. I have tried running Steam in admin mode like the store page says, that
doesn't work. I have tried all the compatibility modes, they don't work.
I have checked file validity, and defragmented the game files, that
didn't work. I am getting a general protection fault that reads:
"History: Gmatrix2D::Swap() Address = 0x10bb5c66 (filename not found)
[In c:...\\Binaries\\Masseffect.exe]
Address = 0x14383de4 (filename not found)"
What does this mean? Where do I go from here?

My first suggestion would be to try to load the game directly from the exe.
program files/steam/steamapps/common/mass effect/binaries/ (Probably). You have to have steam open.

Probably should add that it doesn't work.

There's your problem. Mass Effect needs a discrete graphics card to run.
