Everyone seems
to just bag out Shepard’s death in ME2 as a stupid plot device. As we can all
see, it was done as a reason to give Shepard a new ship, get him into Cerberus,
and get a new crew and team. So Instead of just bagging it out I challenge you
to come up with a better way for Shepard to get his new ship and all the other
stuff, while keeping with the current plot.

I think I've got a much better one:

Shepard saves joker and as his about to close the
door and seal them both in, the explosion blows him away from the door (same as
game). But there is one more escape pod that hasn't been launched, so a second
explosion blows him into the escape pod. Then when the Normandy explodes, the
escape pod gets blown into space.

The escape pod 2 days later flies into a helium-3
station orbiting a gas giant, news travels quickly to the shadow broker which immediately
launches a recovery team. All station personal is killed and news of it never
surfaces past that solar system.

So in short shepard never dies but is in a critical
condition and keep alive by stasis cause the shadow broker received a offer
from the collectors to keep him in that state for a large sum of money.

Now lets see if we can stop complaining and come up with something better?:wizard:

I think the opening scene for M E 2 was entertaining enough... how is it that he ran out of oxygen in a space suit though (O2 can last for hours)?
---------------------------------------------
Opening scene for Mass Effect 3: He aggressively rushes to the Alliance + Council with actual evidence of the Reapers threat as he acquired information about them while working for Cerberus (with the data pad)... and then they'd accept the Normandy SR2 as a Alliance vessel, and further upgrade it with "newer" stuff, and more features, and redesign the interior and call it the Normandy SR3? better?

they could write in something centered around Earth and Mars (and something about both planets being twin planets, yet mars was destroyed by deathly reaper attacks, and earth endured it) having main ancient defense research facilities of the protheans who were working on Prototype super advanced technology against the Reapers and didn't get a chance to use it in time thus being buried and covered on dusty mars, and ancient undiscovered highly advanced ruins on earth. Should write in the husk upgraded and or the geth are trying to stop you by all means (because they still worship the reapers as holy ancient technology). That's how I'd start off the game. "We have to find that ancient prothean ruins on Earth/mars (mars having some technology, plus the secret locations of the secret prothean research ruins inside of earth)... Earth+Mars = Illos 2: Egyptian Mayan type of stuff in Mass Effect 3 (like Star Gate's egyptian crypt being ancient language for advanced tech type of stuff... heavy research, etc type of theme)...

later within a M E 3 story: they could even use the Citadel's conduit relay to enter Reaper's homeworld to take the fight directly to them or something... or maybe not...

How's that? pardon my screwed syntax and grammar.

It wasn't about how entertaining the open sequence was, it is about coming up with something that doesn't seem so far fetched as getting revived from the dead. Also he has run out of oxygen cause he has a suit puncture, that's why i suggested he get thrown into a escape pod to give him the oxygen.

One other thing, this isn't about ME3

I replied without fully reading what you said, my apologies. But yeah, the opening scene to M E 2 was kind of ... questionable... dude running out of O2 while in a Space Suit for less than 15 minutes?

oh. That whole attack, and Shepard dying was all Joker's fault (he stayed behind while everyone else evacuated knowing Shepard would come for him).:pinched: Should have left him.

This is how real men get from orbit to the planet's surface without a ship.
