seem to be quite alot of extra step in there that you really shouldn't need todo. if none of the simpler methods work for you this might be it thought.

yeah Cid but the "manual" way works really most of the time while restoring the database fails for most people ;)

I had problem installing the Server Management Studio Express under Windows 7 64-bit (kept getting Error Code 29506 at the en of the intallation). I found a sollution to the problem that worked perfect for me, so I thought I might as well share it here.

For Windows 7 64 bit you have to use the 64 bit CMD prompt and then run this as administrator. So I did the following…
1. Right click on desktop and click NEW – SHORTCUT
2. Create shortcut to C:\\\\Windows\\\\SysWOW64\\\\cmd.exe
3. Right click on the new shortcut and Run AS ADMINISTRATOR
4. Enter full path and file name:
e.g. C:\\\\\\\\Users\\\\\\\\[YOUR NAME]\\\\\\\\Downloads\\\\\\\\SQLServer2005_SSMSEE_x64.msi
Where [YOUR NAME] is the windows user you are using.

(oh, and remember to run SQL Server Management Studio Express as administrator as well or you wont have permission to save the new database).

I put a link to NErWOnek's guide on the wiki. I guess it helps to have all the answers in one place.

Since this post is so old, I doubt I'll get an answer to this, but I have a question regarding the last steps of your guide. You say that we should find the line <CampaignID>3</CampaignID> and change 3 to 2. I'm just wondering what you are actually doing with changing this line, as I'm a bit worried about changing actual game files. What happens if you leave it as it is?
Otherwise a really helpful and easy to use guide :)

Thanks for this guide; it's very detailed and easy to understand. :)

I get an error, though, when I'm trying to run the toolset, after following all the steps above to the letter: "Unable to verify that the program and database versions match."

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Edit: I solved it! I noticed one of the queries had generated an error due to some junk text being copied together with the script (wiki links etc.). Ran both queries again, just to be sure, and made sure to remove any junk text first... works perfectly now. :)

Once again, this threat is outdated and I doubt anyone will answer, but I've got some errors after successfully completing the guide.

The toolset runs perfectly, no errors while trying to open it, but it seems that I've got no source or anything to work with. Nothing at all, making it literally useless.

I know I've got the option to open "singel player" using the "Manage Modules"-thing. However when I click open nothing happens.

In palette window I can only see the "Sound files" and "Models files".
I've tried the "ConfigureToolset" without success. It is reading from the database in "Dragon age" folder.

Is there anything further I need to do?

the toolset is by default empty. if you want to open the OC or read the core script you need to load the DADBDATA file for those sources ie core.dadbdata

Um, I never used this guide, and the 1.01 toolset seems to work fine out of the original install.

I'm wondering if I have to us this? What does this fix?

you don't need it if your install works.

Well, I hope, I can get an answer even though this thread is old and I'm doing thread necromancy.
I have tried it twice with this help - to no avail. I still get my error message that the toolset is unable to connect.
Any help would be appreciated...
