If during game, my PC begins a conversation in AREA "A" and at the end i want to run a cutscene that take place in AREA "B" (separate area resource), the only way is that first i have to teleport my PC to AREA "B" and then run the cutscene?
I cannot be able to find another solution in wiki or forums.

If you put both areas in the same area list, they will load together, so its possible you can run cutscenes in either areas that way.

It's pretty weird though, since the cutscene has a switch to set area as "required" which going by field description should enforce the game to load that area in order to play the cutscene... but it doesn't seem to function.

From discussion in another, older thread: http://social.biowar...76/index/459864
it sounds like having the area added to area list doesn't actually do much in this regard. Kind of makes you wonder what function the "Area Required" switch has then, if any...

In fact, i tried with area list, but i still cannot run a cutscene that take place in another area. The cutscene plays in the area where i am.

I've always thought you had to be in the area that the cutscene takes place at least in my experience.
Probably better options that these but you could.
- jump the player to the cutscene area, then jump back after the cutsene.
or
- depending on size of are an makeup, create the location of the cutscene in the same area as the player is in. (though put it far enough away that it is out of site out of mind from the location of the 1st area.)

If I am to use the jump player to area, where would I call this function?

Just before the command to run the cutscene.

If the player is not appearing in one of the cutscenes then you can pre-render it, create a BIK and play the BIK movie before/during/after the other cutscene. If the player appears in both then you are facing the choices Beerfish offered.

heyas;
ive only gotten cutscenes to play if the player is in the area the cutscene uses. else i get black background.
also, i found you can't use a script in area a that does "tp to area b; load and play cutscene.' once you leave the area the script is in, it apparently is flushed? anyway, you need to have area a have the script to tp the player to area b, then area b have the script to play the cutscene (and tp the player back to area a, after).
you can make a cutscene run on area enter. i posted a script for that over in the cutscene creators guild.

If the cutscene is to be in a small location, you could use the old trick of placing just that bit in the first area somewhere out of site and inaccessible (much easier to do in indoor areas). Then after the cutscene finishes, load the proper version of the second area.
