yes - i normally use 2 daggers.

But - for this scenario i thought the shield and sword would be more powerful. The sword definatly causes more damage.

If you don't have any Sword Sheild skills, you may be hurting your self more by using a sheild instead of dual wielding like you normally do. My main advice is to take it really slow, utilize your forms as much as possible (use the mouse in sneak to scout etc) and save often. I'm playing a rogue too & quite frankly I had to drop the difficulty to easy on some of the fights & EVEN THEN had difficulty with one or two areas... I was somewhere between 7-10 when I did the tower, can't remember exactly because it was Friday & my whole weekend got sunk into this game so it's all a blur :)

Make sure you are saving every time you make any progress that would have to be repeated if you die (ie every fight) and honestly, there's nothing wrong with setting it to easy & then going back to normal later. Especially if it's getting to the point of making the game no fun for you. Just do what you can to get through and move the story forward without losing faith in the game.

The fade was infuriating for me as a rogue as well. Once you figure out the mouseholes it gets a bit easier. I think I got the burning man form first - the boss was not easy to kill, I went through a lot of bombs, potions, and poisons to beat him. All the forms are pretty much retardedly OP. Once you get the caster form you can pretty much destroy all the demon bosses with arcane prison and the ice blast :P

Did the tower at lvl 7-8, was easy compared to some of the random encounters/city back alley quests I am now faceing at about lvl 12...

I should note the tower was easy, but I'm not sure about the final boss. I'm on him now.

What tactics should I use against this guy? He seems hard. I'm about to battle him now.

Need help, I am stuck in the Fade. I am at the start where Niall is, the portal is being blocked by a dreamer which I assume is Niall. I have been through every dialogue option several times to no avail, cannot initiate a fight with Niall so I can kill him and can find nothing to activate the fade pedestal to let me progress, anyone have any ideas.

you don't use the pedestal, go to the other end of this small area and look for a purple portal.

I have tried walking through the purple portal, have right and left clicked on it, likewise for the black portal and the door that appears to have a force field protecting it. I have now spent longer in this area than it took me to fight my way to it. I have made 4 attempts from the sloth demon to the Raw Fade area but no change the result is the same, nothing trapped.

Went back in and tried again, only worked after I right clicked while holding down the W key. Thanks for your help, noe going back to see if I can finish the fade.

Huh the fade was really easy to me.

I started most fights as the golem and quaked/hurled/slammed then switched to burning man and used fireball and if anything was still alive I tore it apart in melee.

Played on normal.

Also certain doors can only be opened if you use hurl on it as the golem.

Um I had a lot of probs with the Fade in the Tower too, n I had too reload major times lol... All I can really suggest is make sure you have lots n lots n lots of healing potions. That was my mistake, I thought I'd be able to complete it with limited probs ha ya right lol

well im stuck in the fade part of the age tower mission (second hub entrance)... got mouse and spirit form, can get to 2 of the 3 parts of the floor i am on (2nd gate i think it says) and have been through every mouse hole, got the +1 dex, but cant get past to the 3rd section of the floor at the bottom of the map - been through every portal and every mouse hole - unfortunately tehre is a massive door i cant open and the door next to it has instakill fire behind it... so guess im stuck and not going nay further.

Problem is - no escape from the tower so being level 10ish ... hmmm ant see any way out at the moment other than to start all over again - i play it normal level with as little saving as ppossible apart from F5/F9.

I now hope someone out there will says - its simple for to the ... in the ... room and pull the level or whatever.

Do you have the fire form? Basically your gonna have to go bk n forth to each portal area/gate cause there's certain things you need for each gate area. Like the mouse you need for all areas, the fire form I believe in all areas, the golem that smashes the locked doors n the spirit form for finding hidden doors n other lil secrets... There is a lot of backtracking in the Fade... Hopefully this helped

Oh by the way your gonna need each of these forms, (except mouse I think) in order to defeat certain bad guys in the Fade. Fire for irritatin mages, golem for the golems lol... You get the idea

Just beat the whole mage's tower as a level 9-11 rogue (went in at 9, came out at 11) on normal. The Fade was tough in some spots. I think the area I struggled the most with was this one room in Mage Asunder. I do wish I could use those forms outside of the Fade though, it's fun as hell stomping around in Golem form and punching things. I guess controlling the Stone Prisoner is the closest thing I could get to that. :P

@ Zade

If you can't progress through your current "stage" then go back to the start of the area and click on the Fade Pedestal. This will let you pick another area, and try that one. Sounds like you need to go to the burning tower!

This part was crazy hard for me. I think it was just cause I was a rogue, but um shapeshifting really helps with the battles sometimes... Burning man for the burning rages etc. I love the challenge in this game, I haven't been challenged in a long while.

HINT---- use the other forms u get, IE when u go up against the fire mages use burning man (he is immune to fire) the spirit is resilient vs the golems ext, I even would change forms during a fight, just think and use what u have, the last fight is a lot of fun :)

I played on normal, and I visited the Tower/fade in the middle of little possessed Connor quest so I was at the beginning and my tactics was just using 3 forms transparently during the battle. Mostly i was freezing bosses and than I was using golem form and that's it. Although the final battle is just a bit disappointment or the patch make it easier...

i played on normal, visited the tower second and breezed through the fade once i cottoned on to one simple fact which is this:

When you get a form that has more health than your main character, you are invincible. because when you go from main character to that form your health stays at the same percentage (if u have 50/100 health as a rogue and the golem has 300 max then u get 150/300 health when u turn to that form) but when you turn back from any form to your normal character the NUMBER stays the same (so in the example above you would be a rogue with 100/100 health (it would try to give u 150/100 but 100 is max so it reverts to that) meaning if you are hurt, switch to golem, switch back, switch to golem. full heal.

I played as a dwarf rogue and both the burning man and the golem forms had more health than me so i just used them to jump back and forth.

I was a ranger, and the game arbitrarily locks out your summons for that section - you know, the main thing that makes rangers usable with no proper party members.

So. Retarded.

Just a note if you are frustrated. You can not access some areas of each zone without all four forms. Relax...leave a zone if you can go no further and go to the next zone. When you get all four forms, start at the beginning with Nali.

Which level has the golem form? I've managed to get the mouse, burning man and spirit.
