I swear I'll probably kick the bucket the day before hair or cloth simulation makes it into a game.

You obviously haven't played FFXIII.

FF13 is not a real RPG so says a bioware rep.
also FF is eye bleedingly bad.

I'm not saying FFXIII is without it's problems, but clothes and hair do move. In fact, the characters even breath and shift position when you leave them in one spot. I wasn't promoting the game; I was saying that the stuff he says he'll never see in a game is actually in a game, and he's still alive.

Spending time crafting the perfect face, getting the features just right. That subtle mix of beauty and grace only to start playing the game and find your hard work has produced yet another evil freakish abomination that you will have to consign to the digial waste bin -- forcing you to roll another character and listen once more to Frank N' Furter lie to your far-too-trusting father.

Aion had great effects as well when it came to aesthetics too bad the controls were so clunky, and it was filled with bots.
Yeah. I seriously miss the character creator, which I thought was truly brilliant. Like you said, though, the bots made it almost unplayable.
Though I am a little tempted by the new patch.

Setting up Leil with, what I believe to be an awesome set of tactics only to find that she has spent the battle during which I could have used some archer support switching between bow and daggers like an indecisive OCD sufferer.

This! Plus setting up the most tactical tactics in the history of warfare and then have them screw you over when you want your party to do just one little thing differently.
