I have been playing this game for months now.  I've seen every ending, achieved every achievement award and I still cannot become Queen of Ferelden!  What's the secret?  I'm a noble female, hardened him and I still get dumped as soon as it is time to take the throne.  Someone pleeease help me!

my understanding is this also works for the Human Noble story only. I have not tried it with the elf origin story due to the fact he and I always run off together in that particular playthrough. My elf has no interest in being queen. )

Is that all there is to it? I assumed it had to be resolved before the landsmeet so I abandoned my noble female at that point. I'm going back to finish this out. Thanks! Have a Deep Mushroom on me!

Pretty much. Granted in my case Alistair has not been hardened. So he is easy to convince that you did the right thing. Even though you do not get an actual marriage proposal (which I think is crap and should have been put in the game complete with ring and him being down on one knee) But I think it is fairly easy to convince even when hardened. (Will have to try this scenerio) Let me know how it works for you.


My first play through was an elf and I made the mistake of making him king only. He split us up and I was so heartbroken my pc did the ultimate sacrifice just to spite him. )

Mmmm mushroom... with the proper brewing and application of a poison skill it can become a wonderul hallucinagenic adventure.

Or better yet sauted with a big fat juicy steak!

Usefull info.  Just remembe, if hardened, and you let Ali do the ks on you know who, he will just step up without letting you decide anything.

Just a note to announce my engagement! I did the elf thing first too and had my heart broken. It's funny, that was my first goal when I started playing and it's the last thing I have been able to accomplish. I've been playing other characters for the last several months. I found out it's much easier as a male to get to the throne but it's not as much fun for me as getting romanced by Alistair. And I agree, I wanted the proposal complete with a ring! But this will have to do.

Hmmm, if you want a proposal, you have to do a different romance There's only one proposal that I know of in the game, and you have to clarify it.



To become queen, that's a whole different issue. The marriage of a king is more about politics than anything else.

Exactly. Marriage among medieval royalty has nothing to do with falling on you knee and declare undying love. It's a bit like expecting the car dealer to fall on his knee and hand you the keys to your new Ford, just because you two are dating. It's business for heaven's sake.

She's speaking of Zevran. When he offers his earring for the second time (because you refused it the first time) you can ask him if this is a proposal and Zevran will say it is one if you wish.

It's still not an actual fairy tale proposal and it doesn't set a flag but it's as close as you can get in DA (and it fits Zevran's character as this love thing is all very new for him).
