As the title says, the STEAM version of ME1 is causing my display drivers to crash.  It seems to happen randomly -- I can play for 45 minutes sometimes, and sometimes it'll just die after 5 seconds.  It doesn't happen in the menu, only once I get in-game.  The screen will freeze up briefly, sometimes displaying graphical artifacts, the sound will stutter, and then my screen will go blank and the monitor will say 'No signal'.  I have to restart my computer when it happens.  I've tried running the .exe as an admin and in XP compatibility mode with no luck.  Currently I'm installing the game onto my laptop to see if it works there.
 
My system:

Intel Core2Quad Q6600 @ 2.7 GHz  

NVIDIA 8800GT with the 4/13/2010 drivers  

Onboard sound

Vista Ultimate 64 Bit SP2

DirectX 10

Graphical artifacts don't sound like good news for your video card. Have you checked out what kinds of temperatures it reaches? (ME1 can be run in a window if you want, which would probably help with that.)
