Not sure if this topic has been covered before, but what the Hell...

I have seen many many bad movies and it is difficult for me to list just one.  For me, a really bad movie has to be offensively bad.  I don't find crappy B monster movies from the 50's and 80's to be the worst movies ever made because they were meant to be crap.  Rather, it's the self-indulgent, self-proclaimed masterpieces as well as movies that expect to get by on a strong license or franchise name that I despise the most.

So to starf off with, here are a few movies that come close to being the worst ever...

Robocop 3-It was like they did a live action adaptation of a sunday morning cartoon version of Robocop for little girls.  A bunch of childish, dumbed down garbage.

Space Odyssey 2001-Movie was practically non-existant.  You can miss 95 percent of this movie and not miss a thing plot wise.  I don't care how impressive the special effects may have looked in 1968, you don't write 5 minutes worth of script and then prod it out through two and a half hours of crap floating in space.  This movie is only good as a cure for insomnia.

Star Trek(2009).  Unbelievably stupid plot.  The main villain's motivations were so far fetched and completely over the top and that red matter was nothing more than a cheap plot device.  The sets looked terrible, the movie had product placement(even though Star Trek takes place in a post capitalistic society) the movie discarded everything that Star Trek had built up with it's stupid plot...I HATED this movie with every fiber of my soul.

Highlander 2-WORST SEQUEL EVER!  This was like an Ed Wood movie with a budget and A list actors who looked embarrassed being in such a crappy film.  As bad as this movie is, I reccommend people watch it anyways as you will not believe how bad it is.  Watch the first movie if you can just so you can see how inconsistent and contradictory the sequel's plot is to the first one.

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory: A pointless remake and butchering of a movie just about everyone loved as a child.  The humor was in incredibly poor taste and Johnny Depp's portrayal as Wonka can't hold a candle to Gene Wilder's.

There are several others but I won't bother to list them all right now.

Worst movie I have ever seen though?

hmmm, I don't know.  Probably anything directed by that buttclown Paul WS Anderson.  He's like Uwe Boll except he thinks he's great.

There are so many bad movies in existence that it is almost impossible to list just one. This is going to take me some time. Hmm, what is the worst movie I've ever seen? *ponders*

My pick:

Forbidden Warrior, an 'Asian fantasy film' directed by Jimmy Nickerson (whose day job is stunt coordinating rather than professional directing, as the record indicates) with an American production and hodgepodge cast of Asian-American and non-Asian actors/actresses. Believe me, it was BAD. BAD BAD BAD BAD. The plot was basically every fantasy cRPG cliche slapped together, characters were thinner than cardboard, the script was pure camp, fight scenes were amateurishly sloppy and boring, there was no sense of geography/culture/history/economy, and the ad hoc mix of Asian and non-Asian characters (with the non-Asian ones mostly being played for laughs) was bizarre to say the least. Don't even ask about the scene where ninjas and pirates got together for a Very Serious Big Fight in a temperate-zone forest - needless to say, I spent the entire movie alternately gawking in horror and laughing my head off.

Best yet... to add insult to injury, after nearly two hours of unbearably excruciating length, it turned out that the film didn't even have a proper ending. Just one reunion scene a la "LUKE I AM YOUR FATHER" at the very end, cut to scenery and SMACK BANG CREDITS ROLL. Half of me thinks that they ran out of budget, but the other half suspects that they were setting the story up for a sequel/trilogy. Sad to say, though, the entire product was so ridiculously awful that I'm sure Part 2 will never see the light of day. And that's probably a good thing.

But still... rent it if like me you find some masochistic pleasure in watching bad movies. Heck, rent it for a date night and choke with laughter on your popcorn, because that's the kind of entertainment this film unintentionally provides. You'll actually find it a lot of fun if you take it as a classic case of How Not To Make A Movie. Guaranteed.

It's a three-way tie between The Last Song and the two Sex and the City movies.

I've decided to go with Alexander (Colin Farrell), I don't know if counts though, because the movie was so horrible to me that I couldn't finish watching it.

The Last Song did suck but at least it had Miley Cyrus in it.

Going by that definition i would vote for the Harry Potter movies. The newer ones even more than the early ones, though those sucked, too.

If that is the case it can´t be the worst movie ever. A movie that makes you laugh has done everything a movie should accomplish.

Hmm... let me think... Well, there was Shark Attack 3 - Megalodon. So terrible it was actually hilarious. (I will never forget that line John Barrowman says, ever.)

The worst movie I've watched from beginning to end would be Starship Troopers: Marauder. By Loki's cursed name, that thing was horrible.

Heh. For me, laughing is a coping mechanism that I use to deal with pretty much anything crappy. So if a movie makes me laugh and laugh - and unintentionally, too - that has to be a very bad sign. The last time I did that was at a screening of Twilight: New Moon. Thank goodness it was just me and my buddies; I think I'd have been kicked out if we had been at a real movie theater. But that movie was so excruciatingly bad that it was a hoot.
