I guess I see your point.
What is the worst movie you've ever seen?

At least the OCC chopper of Eragon was kind of cool.

eragon like wtf the character motivation was completley changed, timescale changed, no dwarfs, elf's dont look very elven, dwarfen capital city changed, over all eargon the film had very little in common with the book.

To be fair it's not like Eragon had great material to draw from =P
Now that has got to be one of the worst books I have read!

If we count MST3K, then the Creeping Terror. Some may argue for Manos: The Hands of Fate, but Creeping Terror 'wins' it for me.

How old were you when you read it?

Manos: The Hands of Fate is such a painfully redundant title. I never caught that movie. MST3K version or otherwise. The Final Sacrifice is also awful.
Let's see...
Short Circuit 2 is a movie I wish I never watched. Conan the Destroyer was bad. Mean Guns was also terrible even if I liked Ice-T in it. Honestly, bad action movies are not a place to force hackneyed, pseudo philosophy. Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. I saw the latter *twice* because it was so bad I just had to show a friend and see his reaction in person. It's a great example of how star power doesn't guarantee a movie's quality.
What else... Spy Hard. That was crap even for a Leslie Nielsen comedy. Scary Movie 3 and 4, also crap. I'm tempted to trash this entire sub-genre. There are very few movies of this type that weren't wall to wall bad jokes with a threadbare plot to push it all along.
I'd have to think hard to pick a worst movie ever seen. There are so many bad ones out there.

Well, The Room is terrifically bad, but also terrifically great because of it, so I'm not sure you can call it bad. Avatar was bad, but only appeared really bad due to the fact that they spent all that money and none went to the plot. I'm having a hard time thinking of truly useless movies.

Disastor movie I payed 5 dollars for it so I felt obligated to sit through it.

One night, I was so bored that I actually watched "Meet the Spartans" when it was on one of the movie channels... that was an hour and a half I'll never get back. Although, I have to say anything from Uwe Boll is worse than that. House of the Dead and that Dungeon Siege movie he made were the worst "films" I've seen that tried to take themselves seriously.... crap, now I have to be careful, Uwe Boll might jump out and challenge me to a boxing match for saying his movies are craptacular. Everyone knows that if you beat up someone who criticizes your work, the critic was wrong all along.

Twillight was so bad that 3 of us with loads of beer couldn't finish it. We just turned it off half way.
Hell, I even seen all but 1 (Bloodrayne 2) Uwe Boll video game based films, a few more than twice, and even sat throught Night of the Lepus, but I'm just not Twillight compatible. Even the Ed Wood films are better.

Zombie Planet. Only movie I have failed to finish. Yongari is also pretty bad (reviews for it include the phrase "rectal bleeding" in a completely serious fashion with this movie), but Zombie Planet was far, far worse.

For the lulz - Battlefield Earth.
Willingly went to theater to see Matrix II and I seriously wanted my money back. Otherwise I successfully avoid bad movies.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Thankfully I fell asleep during this so I saved myself. But this is the first movie I have ever fallen asleep watching so that is a bad sign in of itself.
A.I: That movie was so depressing I honestly felt that the only way to save myself was to commit suicide right there. Even my friend who dragged me to see it said he has been to livelier funerals after seeing it. Hell everyone coming out of that looked like they lost the will to live.

The Robin Hood movie with Kevin Costner. Granted, anything with him is flushable, but that was spectacular brown sauce.

Rollerball(i think it was called) was the only movie I've gone to see where I've actually had the urge to get up and leave halfway through because I was so bored. Yes, Rollerball wins.

It was much better than the new Robin Hood, that's for sure.

Watching FF:TSW at a very young age was the first time I realized that good visuals and a jaw-dropping trailer doesn't necessarily correspond to a movie actually being of decent quality. Also, despite all the boasting about top-notch CGI, I remember that animation was at times wooden and there were one or two particularly painful shots where the characters looked like rubber dolls. Not to mention the convoluted script that resulted in me having to watch the movie twice or thrice to get a handle on what was happening. But the best part ever was realizing that it wasn't just me, but that the grown-ups in my family (parents and uncle) who were watching at the same time were *utterly* confused as to what was going on onscreen. Till this day, I'm tickled by my uncle's bewildered response to the final shot (where Aki and Gray are inexplicably floating over a snow-capped mountain vista after having defeated the Phantoms): "Did they die and go to heaven?" Priceless, lol.wolfsite wrote...

FF:TSW isn't the worst movie I've seen (the pretty visuals saves it, and it's been some 6-7 years since I last watched it so I'm inclined to be less critical), but it comes pretty darn close. Heh.

I fell asleep to Legally Blonde with Reese Witherspoon.
It's the only time I've fallen asleep to a movie.

wow...I'm seeing some good movies on peoples lists...
Bosomjack:
2001 Space Odyssey - really? It's a visual movie. The story isn't told through dialog...that doesn't mean it's not there.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - I realize it's cool and hip to criticize this film because everyone loved the original...but it wasn't a bad movie. The original movie was a butchering of the book...so I guess we went full circle.
Sand King - Zombieland? really? Why?
wolfsite & Amberyl - Final Fantasy: Spirits Within. Again...I realize it's popular amongst video game nerds to criticize the movie...but it was an interesting story, and if it had been filmed in live action and called anything else, people would have loved it. The story wasn't the least bit confusing...and I would actually question the intelligence of anyone who had a hard time following it.
As for my "worst movie"...it depends on what we're talking about. If we're talking about merely being overrated and undeserving of hype...then there's a new movie at least once a year. Last year it was Avatar, and the year before it was Dark Knight. Neither is a bad movie...but completely undeserving of the hype they received.
I'd have to go with The Super Mario Bros Movie.

It's a three-way tie between The Last Song and the two Sex and the City movies.
I just read The Last Song...it's a good book, I haven't seen the movie though...it's a shame they cast Miley in it though. I love Sex in the City...I will definitely be going to see Sex 2 next weekend.
For me, the worst movie has got to be Gerry
