- Firstmost the game should not be designed to cater to persons leaned back in their sofas with a handcontrol. If the game can be played in this way it is not for me. I need something more advanced.
- The second most important thing is that the game needs to at least support multiplayer worlds or maybe even company controlled online worlds (shudders a bit at the thought but still hopes that an MMO can be made to cater to persons older than 13).

Playing the game on the 360, though it is beautiful in its own way, its just too low res for me (especially the character models).

The clipping distance (on PS3) was noticeable, with far-away things popping out of existance, which detracted... Also, the landscape and flora/fauna need more attention. Oblivion's landscapes look better - i.e. trees in the distance look like trees..
I'd also like to see the game be a little more open-ended in terms of exploration. DA:O feels a lot like a choose-your-own-adventure RPG, which is cool. But the exploration is linear.
More open level design. Too many (unrealistic number) of dead-ends led to too much back-tracking. Too many "impassable" areas made the levels feel linear - if you stray off the path you just end up back-tracking to the path again..

Allow for importing of characters from previous DA:O and DA Awakenings. Better graphics.
As for romances. Allow all women and men to be romanced by both genders. Instead of having only say Leliana available for romance, you can make say Morigan romanceable by women as well. Just an example. Also make the female romances more believable. Instead of having a girly girl for a lesbian romance, have a butch lesbian in there for your character to have a romance with.
I found Leliana too girly for my tastes. Not every lesbian wants a femme for a partner. Some lesbians like myself are femme's and want a butch lover. More of a range would be nice in the romance department.
Bring back Zevran, Morigan, and Shale. I loved those three. Hell they were my favorite party members. Just the conversations you had with them made me laugh.

I'm no fan of Oblivion. Frankly I like my games with a linear storyline. Open ended gaming tends to bore me and makes me want to sleep.

having all of them be romanceable by both genders to me is not believeable.
I call for 2 straight 2 bi and 2 gay romances with 12 new party members.

The Lip syncing is horrible. They look like Thunderbirds puppets lips.
The graphics need to be improved.
Slightly easier learning curve (didn't really get into the groove with combat until my second playthrough)
Easier toolset (I understand it's a complicated game and so the toolset is equally complicated but they could have made it a bit more user friendly. And written a manual)

Maybe more iteraction with my characters. For example: If my hero (mage) has Blood Mage specialization then he should be hunted for it by templars...

The cool thing about DAO is there is very little that needs to be changed for the sequel. Here are my biggest nitpicks:

I completely agree, Bioware have a really great foundation and from here it's just building upon that with a wider variety of animations and details which will naturally come with this new technology that Bioware VP, Zescuk claims they are already working on. One of the main strengths of DA:O (by my estimation) is how it allows you to personalise with your PC and how he/she is able to personalise him/herself with the NPC. They do this by allowing you to change even the characteristics and the conext of your relationship with most of the NPC's. I hope this makes an effective and polished return. Voice acting: This is another good strength in DA:O and with there being such a wonderful mass of dialogue in RPG's, I hope they continue to maintain and improve upon, where/if possible.

If the Fade was presented more like in Awakening, I wouldn't mind. (Brighter colors and textures, and it didn't last 3 hours).
The Fade in DA:O just ended up giving me a headache.

Dragon Age 2 (?) ...hmm...we could just as well be talking about Dragon Age 3...anyway...I get the point kind of with this thread...it just annoying to see all the threads where they write "Dragon Age 2" where non such has been announced...
A new Dragon Age project does seem to be on the horizon. There is a paper that comes in the Awakening box which has a red silhouette of a dragon and nothing else other than "2.01.2011" on it.
As to what should be in the game, I actually disagree with the author of this thread. I think BioWare should keep the Elf, Dwarf, and Human races and not really introduce any others except perhaps Qunari. Introducing a new race at this point wouldn't really work well with the narrative in my opinion. I do think that there could be more roles in each race to play as, however, such as a member of the Warrior caste for dwarves, maybe a human commoner origin, and an elven Keeper along many others.
I also don't think BioWare should implement a sliding alignment scale like the one in Knights of the Old Republic. One of the major points of Dragon Age is that the most of the decisions in it aren't as black and white as they are in other games, which is why there is no alignment scale in the first place. Because there isn't one, Dragon Age is the kind of game that makes me really think about the choices I want to make instead of just figuring out which one will give me points for the alignment I want.
I do wish to see another country, or possibly several. I think Orlais and Antiva are the most likely candidates, but maybe there could be something with countries further north such as the Tevinter Imperium and maybe another Qunari invasion? There is also a plot thread in Origins which I won't spoil for anybody, though pretty much everybody who has beaten the game should know about what I'm talking, that I think really needs some sort of resolution.
I think choices made in Origins and Awakening should have some real impact in the game. For example, in my epilogue in Dragon Age, one of the characters decided to do something that would change herself quite a lot. I think following up on the many different epilogues would be a great idea and really add a lot of depth and uniqueness to each playthrough considering how many different epilogues one can get for each character. I don't think this will happen, though, since one of the Origins characters was present in Awakening despite the fact that her epilogue should have left her absent and she didn't even mention it.

I agree with every statement. Especially about Codex - using the right stick to scroll it in the way it's implemented is clunky.Scott Tenorman wrote...
The Codex was impossible to navigate on the PS3. You never knew where an item was.

I'd like to not continue the Warden. I want to play a character that wont be dead within 30 years, and isn't bound to a stupid organisation I had no choice in joining.
I agree with this.
I'd also like some of what was in Awakenings combined with Dragon Age. For instance the political field and whatnot (which is strange considering how you practically shape every single political outcome of the first Dragon Age).
Also some of the interface needs cleared up (the Codex, Inventory tends to get spam junk) and crafting should be modified.
Also, this won't be implemented, but I'd like to see five controllable characters instead of four.

DA:O, in all was the best rgp so far ever made for the PC, it was the money as it took you so long to complete, and what you did in the game, changes how the game sees you as a character..
Now with DA2 announced, what would you like to different from DA:O.. Here is my list:
Characters
More Races included instead of the basic human, elf, and dwarf fantasy.
Being able to play as good or bad, allowing a change in pace and multiple of different endings[/list]
Customization
More range of amour, got a bit tidies, with armour looking the same unless it was a rare find within
a quest Same goes for swords and other weapons as well
Graphics
New graphic engine should beimplemented, not that DA:O didn’t look good, but the characters would look
a tad more believable if little details such as their hair moved whenwalking or if windy etc .
Clothes and armour should get wet and drip when raining, you see this other games such as Uncharted when
drake’s clothes are wet and they stay soaked for sometime before dryingout. All these little tweaks make the world look a lot more believable and real.
World
·
Opened ended world, I thought the game was a bit linear, it would be better if there was more freedom like games such as Eldar Scrolls Oblivion, where you could stop and admire the landscape with calm music in background.
Story
·
If Bioware decides not to use same characters, then instead of having Origins which all lead to same route of joining the wardens, maybe allow the player to choose whether or not they join and if not, join at a later time within the game etc giving the story more depth and diversity
Pretty much everything you said. I'd love to see other races such as centaur, minotaurs, Gnolls and orcs or golbins. Something other than just the old, dwarf, human elf.
thats right there are no goblins or orcs in dragon age, instead we have not orcs called hurlocks and not goblins called genlocks haha

Story line inconsistencies bother me more than anything program related. Those can be fixed but story in set. Did they have story editors to catch these?
Oh, and the "Broken Circle" primary quest is way too long without being able to leave at some point.

I would like to see them fix the inconsistancies in the story. There are several but the one that comes to mind right off hand is not being able to have a Dalish elf mage. There are mages in the clans but you cant create one. If you want a dalish mage they must be from the alienage. Then in Awakenings, one of the companions is a mage. Where did she come from? Not the alienage.

Wait.. You want elves to get another origin?! Thats not bloody fair. They have the most already. Give another Origin to a cooler race.

What you described aren't at all inconsistencies; they're simply options that aren't available in the story. Dalish mages do exist (the Keeper is a mage and spiritual leader of the clan) but are simply unavailable to create. And the companion from Dragon Age was the apprentice to the Keeper of a Dalish elf clan.
