Hi, I am sorry that I did not follow the guidelines before. I have created a new topic, so just delete the old one. I hope that you still want to help me :-)

3.  Problem Details

  a.  When it comes to problem details, think about the five basic questions: Who? What? When? Where?  Why? Okay, so “Who?” doesn’t really apply here, but the others do.

  b.  What?  What is the nature of the problem that you’re seeing?

My pc freezes during the landing sequence/cutscene on Eden at the start
of the game.

  c.  When?  When does the problem occur? Every time you engage in a particular action or only after so many hours of play?

After about 10 min og gameplay. After talking to the captain and the
specilforce alien.

  d.  Where? Where does the problem occur? Is the problem localized to a particular planet or does it occur everywhere?

I do not know. I have had problems with the first cutscene about 1 sec. into the game, where two prominent people talk about who they should choose, and the screen also freezes. I have managed to work around that problem somehow. I also had problems when the first cutscene was about to end and the spaceships is preparing to fly into the "blue orb" and the game freezes, but i also managed to work around that.

  e.  Why? As much as possible, can you isolate the problem to a specific set of steps?

Not really, it is the cutscenes I guess. My graphic card driver is 191,07 as I read that was a good one for playing mass effect, I have also tried some others but they have failed me.

I hope you can help, as I am stuck, I guess I have visited the first 200 Mass Effect freezes fix sites, but they did not really help me. I hope that I have provided all the right information, but feel free to ask if there is more you need to know

:-)

EDIT:

http://support.ea.co...echo $p_sid ? >

This could perhaps be the problem, but I have a problem, that is no Direct x setting under Sound, so I can not adjust the bar to basic acceleration

:-( The edit button does not work, so I will just paste here:

EDIT:

I can see that my sound card is not supported in hardware mode, http://support.ea.co...li=&p_topview=1 so I just have to make sure that the default is software, right?

If the web site's features and functions are also hampered by your system, you need to
sort out the input system. For instance, if you are using a USB mouse, while still able to
connect a PS/2 connected mouse, test that. If you are using a USB keyboard, and still
have a PS/2 port for the keyboard, test with that.

These tests are particularly important if either of your input devices is wireless, which
often turns out to be problematic when playing games. There is no loss of functionality
here on the web site for my system. The option to edit my own posts works fine, although
it seems there must be some untoward server load today, since the edits take their own
sweet time to finally show up.

I can see that the edit part did work, but I would have sworn that the edit was not there after i pressed submit.

BUT I do have a wireless mouse, but I seriously doubt that it is the mouse that are causing the problems.

Perhaps I have a solution to my problem, I read somewhere that changing my computer from 2 core's to 1 maybe work, the million dollar question is, where do I do that?
