 My saves have gone randomly

This is not very impressive!

No idea why!

Any help would be muchly appreciated!

Have gone randomly? You mean they just vanished on you? Make sure to check your Save folder (..Documents/BioWare/Mass Effect 2/Save). Please try to be more specific.

Yup that folder is empty, this morning my saves where there, but now they are not

Then they must have been deleted, possibly by accident, maybe take a look in your recycle bin? Other than that, I've no idea why they are gone.

If you know which savesgames you want to continue, you can try creating them from scratch using Gibbed's savegame editor. I've never tried that, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Have you logged on to your machine as a different user?

That's not completely safe. I edited a savefile to give myself a billion minerals and all my choices from ME1 had been altered. The game said Ashley was alive and the council was not even though I never altered this in the save editor and the right boxes are still checked.

Well ofc in case something happens, make sure you have backups. But creating a savegame from scratch doesn't have that problem. It's worth a try IMO if all else fails
