Like in the trash, in their OWN forum, in a sub-forum, anywhere else but mixed in with the useful content that dominated this forum.

And slap the brainiack that moved the fan threads here. Seriously, violence is completely justified now that I have to endure 3 pages of LI and Support blah blah crap. And it is crap.

You want a reason? Ok, since it's been said and ignored by you in every other thread started here on this same topic: Character gushing has absolutely nothing to do with classes and Builds. Talking about how you use your Sheppard character is appropriate. Talking about Miri's ass or Jack's tatood ****** is not.

Seriously, the mod that moved things should be shot. The fail meter hit epic and only stopped because it had no where else to go. The only fail more epic is in the gulf of mexico, and despite the problems there's still hope that it can be fixed...

Move that crap elsewhere. This is a demand, not a request so you're not confused.

For all that might feel like bumping this thread or responding, please don't. I suggest we create as much anarchy in response to this stupidity. All comments and responses should be in the form of NEW threads. At least then all the fan gush will be pushed under the carpte, so to speak.

I would normally agree. However, as the more civil threads are completely ignored, what other recourse is there?

All threads that touch on this issue get buried by I love Garrus and support tribbles in ME3 banter. So, I say fight fire with fire until BW get's off their collective butts and corrects the mistake.

Ooooh yeah the best way to get someone to help is to insult them and threaten them over the internet.

I am sure Chris will be reduced to frantic, fearfull tears and not be at all tempted to simply click the little banhammer icon.

Seriously, stop whining.

They have to go somewhere, and this has been judged the most appropriate place for them. Just 'cause you havent had to deal with them till now doesnt change that.

Banning people for wanting this forum to be used for what it was originally intended is hardly justified.

That being said, whining (if that is what you want to call it) isn't the way to get your point across. There are intelligent solutions to the problem, such as creating a subforum for the character support threads.

This is from the welcome to the forum thread at the top of the page. Have you read it recently?

Hello Mass Effect 2 fans

This forum is for fans to discuss their characters, the different classes in the game and your suggestions/opinions on how to create the best builds for the game. It is also for fans to discuss their favorite characters from Mass Effect 1 r 2 and why they should or should not return to Mass Effect in the future.

That post was also edited to include that last line after the move happened. I don't understand the people that support the threads being here. They were a problem in their old forum and they're a problem here. Nothing was fixed, the problem was just moved. Another group of posters was pissed off to please another. Just create a subforum and everyone will be happy.

Hey i never said the OP should be banned.

But seriously, put yourself in Chris Preistly's shoes and re-read the original post. Tell me you would not be tempted to press that little button.

Seriouly why would insulting him help?

The character discussion threads actually have intelligent conversations you know. Sure, there's a lot of character gushing but that's not all there is.

Plus, I seriously doubt BioWare will fire Chris Priestly for something as minor as this.

I don't understand why the welcome thread's description should be any less valid just because it was changed recently. It says what it says.

And insulting doesn't help. It was a poor way to do it and the whole post was in bad taste, yes. Whadaya gonna do.

While some people did hate the character threads one of the main complaints - and the reason character thread posters like myself were in support of such a move before it happened - was that this forum seemed more on topic.

General Discussion, it seems to me, is more for gameplay since spoilers aren't allowed so any story-related discussion except in a vague sense is right out.

It's not that it isn't valid, the isssue there is that they changed it to justify the move. People who knew the description before they added that bit in found that to be sneaky and look like a "quick fix" rather than actually trying to find a legitimate place to move the character support threads to.

But this is really all irrelevant. What matters is that they didn't belong in their previous location, and by the original intention behind this forum....they don't belong here either. Where they do belong is in their own subforum, and I fully support that being done. Otherwise, I can totally understand people who have been active in this forum getting upset and maybe saying things that are uncalled for.

Uncalled for, as in demanding physical violence against Bioware employees? Lol.

Well, it did say characters, classes, and builds, didn't it? Before the move, what did the characters part of the title refer to?

I'm not getting into a discussion on whether the OP was over the top or not, that is his business, not mine.

I do know there was a thread on the first page a few days ago detailing what exactly the previous character bit referred to. The statement "their characters" was taken as your Shepard, such as the "share your shepard" thread.

The way it was worded previously, character support threads would not have fitted in with it so they changed it to specifically reference them.

Dragon Age: Origins Characters, classes and Builds (Spoilers Allowed)

Compare notes with other Dragon Age: Origins fans about your class builds and playstyles. WARNING: Topics may reveal spoiler information. Game registration is required to post in this forum, but all visitors may read.

TOPIC REPLIES VIEWS LAST POST

This is off DA's build and character forum, it said basically the same thing in the welcome post in here before the update. Which means the "Character" to be talked about is the Shepard you play, not all the ones you run into and interact with outside of how they effect your build and play style. In DA's forum the "I Luv XXXX" threads are all in the Story forum, but not in the Volume that was/is in here. The volume here should dictate a separate forum all on their own, because they pure volume will disrupt any forum not dedicated to it solely.

So while I don't really like the tone of the OP, I agree with what he wants and why.

ahh, poor baby, can't handle someone not liking them.....there there, it will get better.

You know, proponents of the "I love XXXXX" posts say if you don't like them then don't click on them and scroll on by......well take the advice of your fellow fanites and just ignore those of us who really don't like what was done to this forum in the name of making the "story" forum better.

The mods moved the crap around instead of cleaning it up.

Suggestions for the forum should be posted to the Social.bioware.com Site Help forum.

End of line.
