I always read builds with points over 50 in things and  I don't see how. I beat the game twice and I had a two stats in high 40s, and then 10s or 20s for the rest. How.

Three points per level = somewhere between 60 and 75 points by the time you finish the game. Plus the base 10, and bonuses for class and race, and a couple of tomes along the way. Throw in a bit of stat enhancing equipment and it's certainly achievable.

It's not necessary though. You don't have to min/max to play successfully.

What Rhys said. Also, some people use the respec mod to pump their stats, though that's not something that gets mentioned very often. You get some 42 stat points in the fade that are scattered all over the place, and if you respec, you can put them anywhere.

You get that high by sticking with one or two stats for a character. My warrior had 38 strength and 75 dexterity at level 23. Everything else was untouched. My mage has put all but two points into magic and should have 95-100 base magic by the end.

LOL but  it can be done without one.

Its done by focussing on one stat.

In my last playthrough  with a 2-hander human noble warrior, I got to 104 strength.

You start  at level 1 with  15 strength.  You gain 23 more levels  (at 3 points per level, that's +69 strength) for a total of  84

Then there's 4 strength points to be gained in the fade. you're now up to 88.

The berserker spec gives you +2, you're now up to 90.

I found 3 tomes of mortal vessel  (that's 3 additional strength points) the total now is 93.

Key to the city gives you +2, bringing you up to 95.
Andruil's blessing gives you +2, bringing you up to 97
Helm of Honnleath gives you +2, bringing you up to 99
Harvest festival ring gives you +2, bringing you up to 101

And finally, there's Starfang  (+3 str), bringing you to   104

Idk about the will and con part I mean right now Morrigan has like 3 armor while everyone else is in the double digits plus the will points keep you from cuggin down potions every other minute.

The Deep Road monsters don't get near Morrigan much but when they do she's dead in three seconds flat maybe if I hadn't gone there first on Nightmare mode.

Well yes.  I don't recommend nightmare mode until you've mastered every aspect of combat to a T.

Mages don't need armor.   They also don't really need dex for their defense scores since there's tons of   mage boots,   mage headgear and robes that give ridiculous defense bonusses.

And you  WANT to have  low armor on your mage, to keep aggro off of you.  A smart mage who finds herself being pursued by an enemy mob  should be going into crowd control mode immediately.  That is to say, when my Morrigan gets attacked by an ogre in the deep roads,  she usually casts glyph of paralyses... or cone of cold, then  scuttles off behind my tank.

Arcane shield also increases a mage's defense based on their spellpower. A mage with that, Libertarian's Cowl and Magus War Boots should have well over 100 defense, even with base dexterity.

Correct.

But one has to add: you still get hit with that rating, and quite a lot as well.

And it doesnt help against special attacks which hit no matter what defense you have.

Best way to not get hit is to not be where they're hitting

Pick one or two stats and dont put any points else where. Its pretty stupid too anyways. Balenced characters are weak compared to specilised. Each class has a main stat and a secondary, all the other stats are pretty much useless with some exceptions. Like if you plan to be ablood mage and are gonna use blood magic alot pump ccon instead of will power or for rogues except for armor requirments(which can be bypassed with stat boosting gear) its often better to focus on Cun instead of str for damage since it applies to alot more rogues abilitys and with the Dex bug on consoles it adds more damage while buffing most your abilitys.

Also it is entirly possible and pretty easy to get to level 25 in the game, people keep forgetting the turn in quests for your Allies/Troops are repeatable and give decent exp per turn in. Some are easier then others like Arl Eamon troops need gold and the Dahlish need Elfroot.

Except for your main two stats or even main stat(Example two hand warriors never need to boost anything but Str) the Fade bonsues, Tomes and +attribute gear have all your other stats covered.

@Yrkoon 104 Str Impressive, Most Impressive.

@Arthuer Cousland, Try playing a tank with switched stats sometime its quite refreshing. Dex minimum for all the shield talets...I think 32 and Str 75+ its pretty nice cause you do double or triple damage or more on your attacks so less time tanking and more time killing.

Well, when I was in the fade I got a lag spike while I was clicking on one of the fonts, and I kept mashing the button until it responded because it had been lagging all day and I'd had enough, anyway when the game recovered I had 32 extra dexterity, but it was on my mage so that's some good luck wasted...

LOL

But look on the bright side, your mage has awesome defense now.

Well Yrkoon, since the website updated her Willpower, Magic, and Constitution are at 161 un-enhanced. It's actually still higher than that but I'm not going to post anything without proof so I'm not called a liar. If the fade bug is what nerdage posted, I've never had that happen to me. And I don't know how to hack, let alone hack or mod an X-Box 360.

Nobody said you were a liar, but those stats are only possible by cheating or a bug.

For PC users, I recommend the respec mod. Allows you to correct it if you assigned points to the wrong stat, and it makes the Fade bonusses much more useful.

I did use a bug on the X-Box 360, it allowed me to get basically infinite tomes. That is why on my main I will have all skills, spells, and insane stats when I hit 35.

You doing it on Solo Nightmare?
Anyways having stats abouve 60 is over kill anyways. Abuse the bug and let me know how high you can possibly get your stats. Also FYI if you can get your Dex up enough where you have 160 or higher defense nothing in the game on any difficulty setting can hit you except for automatic hit attacks.

Yeah I'm on solo Nightmare. At the moment my mage has 300 Magic even. About 1'200 health and mana. For those wondering I created this character after I had beat the game and Awakening. Girl, the name of the insanely exploiting mage, was made to get the few achievements my first character missed. Hopefully the website will update her.
