Hey there,

I just downloaded the Black Templars Armor from DA-Nexus, but i don't like the stats from the armor, so I would like to edit some of them.
There is also a .dadbdata File included for the Toolset, so I importet the Module and tried to edit and Export the whole thing into the AddIns folder, but the Game don't keep the changes. And I don't get a preview of the Armor in the Toolset like on other Armors from the game, so there are missing Textures?

Then, I tried to make a new Item on base of the Templar Armor the game already has, but I don't know how to edit the Texture of the Armor. I've got some .psd from the Mod, but I don't know how to import them and overwrite the Vanilla Templar Armor with it.

Is there a Tutorial how to add own textures on base of .psd files?
Or how to edit an existing Mod with the Toolset and make the "new" Mod work?

I really searched for Tutorials (e.g. how to edit Tints - but that isn't the thing, or tried to put the .psdfiles into the AddIns-folder etc... without success)

Hope I get some help and someone could explain what I've to do.
Thanks, thanks, thanks!

Edit: Omg, of course .psd files and not png...

I can't say why the textures are missing or how to fix it as I don't have that mod, but I usually just copy the entire core folder from the mod into my ...addins\\\\your module name\\\\core\\\\override folder. The textures usually show up in the toolset after that, and then I use their textures to make a new set of armor.

Edit: PNG files? I may be mistaken, but I thought textures were supposed to be DDS (or wrapped into an ERF)

However, if all you want to do is alter the stats, there is an easier way - you could just use the winter forge mod.

no need for the erf, but yes, textures generally have to be dds (not PNG). if you have a .psd, I assume you have photoshop, and nvidia has made a dds compatibility plugin, available here

more on textures here and materials here:

the reason your changes may not be working is if the old files are still in use and you essentially have two identical files (possibly in two places). you should ensure you remove the original files after you export your own - or better yet just unintall the mod completely and rely on your own files.

Wow thanks!

Well I haven't looked into it now, I'm on my laptop right now, but I am going to as soon as I am back home!

And of course i meant .psd files!

Yes well, I could use the Winter Forge and I use it ;) But this armor is end-game content... or it should be, the author of the mod says.
But I nearly played through DA twice and I really can't see this Leather-Armor stuff anymore so I would like to remove the restrictions of the Armor and lower some stats...

I really can't wait to get home and try it again!
Thanks anyways for the help!

Edit: Wooohoo it worked!! <3
I made it like satans_karma said and copied the Mods core-folder into my new AddIn folder and now i can edit my own items on base of the mod!
I thought that i just had to copy something but thanks anyways...
Well, you can't learn everything on one day, can you??  But I'm happy to enjoy the Game a third time as a warrior with this nice armor in the beginning !!

Thanks for the help and sorry for my stupid mistakes :P
