I'm just wondering what people think would be acceptable damage to their litho. I picked it up from the post office yesterday, and the bottom right corner is slightly crumpled. I'm not sure if I should bother trying to get a replacement, since it's still going to travel half-way around the world to get to me, and I'm sure the likelihood of it being damaged again is quite high as the packaging is not really designed to protect corners.

i would think that acceptable damage is damage that becomes invisible once framed

My Normandy litho finally arrived! The old packaging style got it all the way across the pacific ocean in absolutely pristine condition!

Very, very happy!! :)

From what I've gathered, ANY damage is unacceptable, now, at least for most people, a little nick in a corner or something like that is easily over-looked, but I believe it has been said that any received condition that isn't mint is allowed to be exchanged, but the border between unacceptable and acceptable varies from person to person.

I just deal with it if it is minuscule or easily covered, unfortunately, it seems like when it rains it pours, and I either get perfect lithos or really rough ones.

Funny all this. Half of the Americans that got their Normandys like...2 days after it shipped has horrible damage, my Normandys, after spending over 2 weeks in transit and had to travel several thousand miles (to Australia), and changed hands and vehicles just as many times managed to arrive here in a literally PERFECT condition - even with the new shipping. Wow.

Like, I can see how this new shipping could have damaged them, but even for all the travel mine had it just didn't. Gosh, you Americans must have some ROUGH as couriers.

It depends on what your plans are for it. If you just want it to frame, never ever plan on selling it,and the damage doesn't show up once it's framed. Assuming you don't mind knowing it's there, then a little damage is fine. If however you may want to trade it down the line, or your the investment type looking 5 or 10 years down the road for a possible sale, then really any damage is, or at least could bite you pretty significantly.

I own a comic shop that's been in my family for many decades, so believe me when I tell you, that a little damage can go a long way on denting a collectibles value. I don't want to put any more stress on Jedi or the Biowarestore, but my feeling is, that if it's really any amount of noticeable damage, and your concerned about it, get it replaced. It won't cost you anything but a little time. It may not bother you now, but years from now, you may really wish you had replaced it, but by then, the opportunity will have passed, and an undamaged one may cost you $1500.

personally I really don't think that these will have a huge resale value 5-10 years. It probably won't be as popular as Star Wars and I'm sure there will be much better games in 5-10 years that people will want to buy stuff for instead. If you're doing this as a long term investment watch out.

wel with the amount of cash people are dropping for these litho's right now i wouldnt be suprised if mass effects populairity is going to skyrocket at some point. right now its a very small group of dedicated fans who want these litho's but if the movie turns out succesfull (i'm not holding my breath) these litho's could become quite the collectors item at some point. chances of it are small though but you just never know

Holy crap.  Someone's decided to take the plunge on the Citadel/Illusive Man combo.

Well, now I don't feel quite as bad going over $300 for that Citadel..

Not that surprising really. The last few Citadels have gone for over $300, and IM hasn't been up for quite a while. I wouldn't be surprised at all if one hit $200.

Still that is quite a bullet to bite. And many of us who want a citadel already have the illusive man...

I was very surprised to see that someone bought the illusive man/citadel combo. Way too rich for my blood.

I thought it would be way too rich for anyone. Guess I was wrong. I mean, if I had piles of cash laying around, I'd fork that out for a Citadel alone, but I'm still just so surprised someone jumped on that. I thought the auction would pass, and he'd try selling them separately. I bet the seller is jumping for joy. I know I would be ... That's almost a month's rent for me!

By the way, also surprised that the damaged Minuteman is up to almost $160. I would really like a Minuteman to call my very own, but not so badly that I would pay that much for one with holes punched in it. Not that I would ever try to resell it, but just knowing those holes were there would make me at least a little sad.

Yeah, I have heard "last in quite a while" like 5 times already. Now it seems like we are getting new lithos every couple weeks. Of course it is the store's choice, and these are probably pretty darn profitable, but maybe a slow-down is in order.

While I haven't seen these new ones, I doubt I'm going to be getting either one of them. I'm just looking for a second really iconic one to have a set for the gaming room (currently have just the SR2). So far only citadel, ilium and the illusive man have IMHO exceeded this threshold (and I'm a bit sore over not getting an illusive back in the day).

Well, here's to hoping the artwork that was used for the poster with the CE Prima Guide and as a wallpaper will make the cut one day.

The one being sold by the iconoclast with the thumb tacks?  No problem.

I could be wrong, but I don't think we're required to buy all of them.

Chances are pretty good that we wouldn't see a lot of these lithographs at all if they didn't release them at their current pace. I imagine that they want to release all of the character lithos eventually, but if they only put new ones out every 3 months or so, we wouldn't get stuff like Pragia and Korlus at all. Or vice versa, and all the poor Talimancers would be left out in the cold.
